This may be another example of studying the obvious.

    Encopresis, from the Greek κοπρος (kopros, dung) is involuntary "fecal soiling" in children who have usually already been toilet trained. Children with encopresis often leak stool into their underwear.

    Isn't that what kids are taught as soon as they are sat in front of the TV? Our culture is based on one upmanship and we learn to identify with things: a better car, a new house, a new career, a new partner. You are a non-person until you accumulate things, and you are ranked in society by the things you own.
