I remember seeing posts about most hated songs, but I'm not sure if we've done one about most hated movies. Probably. Near the top of my list would be Leaving Las Vegas. That was about the worst piece of shit I've ever seen. Throughout the movie I was hoping that both lead characters would kill themselves, because everything in the movie was miserable. Why prolong it. It would have been so much better if one of the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park happened along and ate these two insufferably annoying people. I was hoping that they would bang their heads accidentally, stub their toes, anything to add to their almost infinite misery. In the middle of their constant bitching, I was hoping one would say Oh damn, I have a hangnail, I hate when that happens, do you have a nail clipper, and the other would say no, I don't have a nail clipper. I was hoping they'd run out of toilet paper and then make a big dramatic scene out of it, look for the toilet paper for an hour of the movie, not come up with it, and find no way out of the dilemma. I was hoping the Crips and the Bloods would come by and Charles Manson their asses.

dumb, boring stupid...BORAT hands down...thank God I don't go to the theater to see movies, so I had the pleasure of taking the dvd out about 10 minuets into the movie.  btw...I liked leaving las vegas....

Yeah, Quiet one, I liked Leaving Las Vegas too. (just trying to get on her good side, pay no attention). Never saw Cool World.

Worst movie off the top of my head, Vanilla Sky. I still have no idea what that was really about. Or why I actually watched the entire thing. I liked Leaving Las Vegas though....

Ha! I probably would have picked "cool world" too, ed.  I often wondered if it would have been any better with Drew Barrymore (first choice) instead of Kim Basinger, but probably not.

I think I am going to go with "Snakes on a Plane".  It had some potential, (Samuel Jackson, yeah!) but for some reason, i thought it was unbelievable.  Like there is no way they could have gotten those snakes on the plane without someone discovering them.

Also, I think there was too much "hype" about the movie, and it was going to be hard to live up to our expectations, with all that hype.

I must admit I have not watched or heard of "cool world"..but I will also agree with "snakes on a plane"..I didn't even bother to watch it,it looked so dumb.  I liked also liked "vanilla sky".  Lbno...ha now come on..you know you liked that movie!

I once wrote a post of that and said it was Caligula. We had no idea that this was a light blue movie and everyone was leaving the theater all the time while we sat there My husband and I sat though it and another couple lol

Don't yell--but when Dune first came out, I wasn't into it, I guess.  The screen was dark and the scenes long and boring to me.  I went to the lobby and complained to the the popcorn gal that the movie sucked.  Don't know what possesed me to do that.  I guess because we had spent money and I wasn't being entertained enough to sit in my seat!

I do realize now that I just wasn't "in the know" about what is considered cool--alot of people liked it alot.

I'd have to go with 28 Days Later. It's not my kind of movie to begin with, and I actually left the theater before it was over. We went (now-DH and I) with the in-laws, and DH is the only one who sat through the whole thing. He thought it was rude that we left, but I couldn't handle any more of it, and MIL and FIL just thought it sucked - which it did.

The Green Mile, while a good movie overall, affected me the same way without the "Why the hell would anyone write this?" part.

"Reservior Dogs" was the worst movie that I remembered that I saw. A friend of mine convinced me to watch it and I just didn't get it. That movie pretty much kept me away from all Quentin Taratino movies.

Well that's lie, I did give him one more chance- "From Dusk to Dawn"- that one was shitty too. ( sorry if some one did like that one).

Besides Taratino has some thing about chopping, ripping or blowing off characters' ears off. In fact there was an ER episode he directed and someone lost an ear!  Dude has some issues.

Wombie, I had to watch Dune a second time. It's one of those type of movies if you looked away for one second, you got lost pretty quick.

princessbitch65:  Well, that explains it---I don't look at anything for more than a second.....just ain't got time....

Of all the movies mentioned above, I remember seeing Caligula and Dune. I found Dune confusing and not entertaining, so I would at least put it in my top 100 worst movies I've seen. I would most definitely also include Caligula in my top 100 worst movies I've seen. I remember noticing that the Roman men in Caligula were circumcised. Now that is just plain wrong. I found it to be a sick and stupid movie.

The Day After Tomorrow. Never mind the obvious propaganda behind the story, but the acting was stale, and there were continuity errors abound. It was the only movie I ever walked out of, until my friend wanted to see Date Movie for a review for the college newspaper.

As for Snakes on a Plane, the pitch behind that movie was a play on the whole action genre. It was a parody of sorts, where the post-production hype made it to be such a good movie when in fact it was just plain cheesy. Taken at face value, yeah, the movie was pretty awful. But it's quite rich with camp value.

Oh, and Ed: I liked Cool World better when it was called Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
  • silverwhisper said on Nov 27, 2007....
i'm so sorry you actually saw cool world!

the producer and director of cool world said that it had nothing to do with roger rabbit.  They would have been better off if it had....dee

I am searching, I am looking, but can I find it, or was it just there all along, and I just failed to acknowledge its presence.

Searching, looking, failing, or am I?...
