According to Daren Kufere, the major stumbling block to him "repaying" the money/equipment he embezzled is my "Internet libel" and the deliberate malicious defamation of his character. He claims his business and "good name" has suffered. My response has always been "there's no libel in the truth" and "I have a right to share my story with whomever I please" especially since I'm quite sure that at 42 I'm not your your first victim." and "The truth will prevail."

In reality, the stumbling block is Daren Kufere's great big ego and his inability to take responsibility for his actions. I told him any damage to his reputation is a direct result of his choices. I've pointed out he chose to embezzle money and steal computer equipment from me. I encouraged him to honestly talk to somebody about this situation - maybe they would be able help him see that his ego and greed were going to be his downfall.

So if you are a friend of his, maybe you can help him see his refusal to voluntarily repay what he embezzled and stole is going to cost him much much more than a few dollars. Ask him if he was really prepared to expose all of his business and personal affairs in court, perjure himself, and risk his freedom because of a "big head"? Not to mention the spiritual costs.
