the other day i found myself in a verizon store and would venture to say that an experience here is almost as god-awful as a trip to the DMV. the lines are always much too long and the people behind the counters are about as friendly as the dep't of motor vehicles folk.
i could tell immediately that the guy at the counter at verizon had something crawling up his ass when i politely explained to him that all of a sudden, my battery wasn't charging properly. "You must be doing something wrong," was the first thing he said to me. uhm, no i'm not. this is my 3rd verizon phone, i make it a point never to overcharge my phone and it's only a problem i've experienced within the past 3 weeks. and besides, isn't that the first rule of customer service, that the customer is always right? don't question how i charge my battery! ugh, i was enraged. but i kept my composure since i'm extremely patient and explained that i charge only until my phone says it's charged but once i use it for 5-10 minutes, it goes dead. he then tells me AGAIN that it doesn't sound as though i know how to charge my phone correctly and that the trick is to charge it 4 hours a day.
i asked if the battery was covered and he said it wasn't (even though my phone is less than a year old), and that i would have to buy another one. whatever. fine. how much? $30, he says. get my bill and it's 40 (plus tax). it's only a $10 difference but it pissed me off that he told me it was 30, when it's evidently 40.
i NEVER ever complain about things like this, but his behavior really enraged me. not to mention, he made some weird comment to me when i was putting my cc through the machine that i had to "squeeze the sides properly." what a creep. i called verizon and complained and they were nice enough to refund me 20 on my next billing cycle. at least the woman on the phone was extremely nice. why can't more people be this way??
