before i launch my verbal assault on kruuyai, which purportedly means "great teacher," let me first say a few things that i like about her:

  1. i like her lifestyle, her free spirit that travels like the wind, seeking her place in the sun. i'm like that myself, much of the time.
  2. i like her job, teaching languages. i'm like that myself, some of the time.
  3. i like her blogging style. she comes across as very honest and earnest in sharing her ideas and feelings. she really puts a lot of careful thought into her posts. kruu and i, we've had some really nice exchanges of comments here and there. one time, we even proposed marriage to each other.

and now, let me take a deep breath and say the one thing i hate about you, kruu:

not telling us how you're doing, what you're up to, for days on end!

my friend, you are a worse disappearing act than me. don't tell me that ancient skull-and-bone church collapsed and you got buried under it. now be a nice girl, show me your itinerary, and i'll show you mine.

moon- I'm glad you did this. Every time she drops out of the galaxy I get concerned and have to wait until she pops a post. I hope you have enough pull with her to change this.

I think the KGB finally caught up with her and put her into a real Gulag.  Hope she can use her nailfile to remove the bars in the windows, let herself down to the ground with the sheets and escape to her computer.

queenie -- no, kruu and i never fight, but we do have some exchanges every so often  that become quite really hot/heated ... if you know what i mean, and i think you do haha. on oct 29, kruu and i had one such friendly joust in one obscure blog ... and that was the last i saw her ((sniff)).

quietone -- most of my breaks from sc are unannounced too, so i'm as guilty as kruu. but i like it in the peripheries so it's all good, i think :-)

beyond -- i imagine her to be cooking her own brand of witches' brew that she'd spring on us when we least expect it. let's hope she flies by this weekend.

botoni -- make her an offer she can't refuse, my friend. maybe show her a pic of your latest sequined sneakers or something...lol.

actorguy -- maybe she met a pirate who looks like johnny depp and made a final decision to resign from my concubinage research team... ((sniff))

mobil -- don't bad-mouth my friend, you bad man! kruu isn't the type who'll let her hair down at the pub. she has more scruples than that. if ever she meets some biker dudes, i think the classy lady will play safe and invite them to her flat to eat her tart and lap up her red wine... lol

  • hotaka said on Nov 16, 2007....
kruu's great. She's one of the people that make me wish I had more time on SC to spend so I could keep up with her. As it is, I can't even keep up with myself.
  • moonriver said on Nov 16, 2007....
uniquely -- hmm you have something there, my friend. or maybe it's the new russian spy agency that replaced the defunct kgb... :-)

    waking -- gotcha didnt i? :-)

infernal -- we all miss her, i guess. hey kruu, if you're reading this, i'm sending you a banana dipped in chili powder just to draw you in.

fallyn -- i think it's kruu's ultimate fantasy... for all those pirates to take her away. but no, i think her reality's getting better and better, and she's writing new blogs about it haha.

  • moonriver said on Nov 16, 2007....
ed -- lol. i flipped my lid long time ago, haven't you noticed?

pickers -- i'm afraid one of these days kruu and i will really break out into a big fight, and all of you'd be saying, "heh, there goes moonriver again with his cheap gimmick." the boy who cried wolf. (or is it the wolf who cried boy? i keep getting confused...:-)

skald -- when i first wrote this blog i was thinking to mention kruu only as the current example of bloggers that we miss. i wanted others to follow my format and post comments that said "one thing i hate about xyz" but actually began with the things we liked about xyz.

babylu -- when kruu finally emerges from wherever she is now, i'd pummel her with more negative remarks than she could handle in one post...lol. but it'd be a surprise, so don't ask me now haha.

  • moonriver said on Nov 16, 2007....
travlr12 -- hey man, i'm so glad you're back! we missed you too. one particular lady is so ready to welcome you back, i think, hahaha. i should also write a blog about the few things i hate about you, dude...:-)

hotaka -- you're so right there. when kruu's on a roll, we guys have no choice but to just roll over and say "i give up. you're too much." there's one other special lady here who's like that too, and i think you and i know who she is hahaha.

  • travelr712 said on Nov 16, 2007....
moon - i don't think sc has enough room on their site to hold all that! :-) but thank you anyway for the welcome back.
  • LloydTheBarber said on Nov 16, 2007....
You gotta be careful around kruu. She is really very charming. I must admit that I fell for her charm. The next thing  i know, her and I are on a plane to South America. Where in South America, you ask? Well, she wouldnt tell me, she told me that she wanted it to be a surprise. Y'all know how kruu is, a free spirit who can be very mysterious at times. When i would ask her "where are we headed to?". She would just give that crooked smile of hers and say "you'll see soon enough". T' make a long story short, we end up in one of those places that you cant find on a map, and kruu sells me into slavery....f'n kruu!! Anyway, i was barely able to escape with my life when John Rambo (the movie character  not the actor) was able to defeat a rather huge army all by himself and free most of us that were able to survive the terrible working conditions. After this ordeal, i dont feel quite as close to kruu as i once did. YOu all say  you want to know where kruu is, and what she is up to right now??!! Trust me, you dont want to know *shivers*
  • moonriver said on Nov 16, 2007....
trav -- awww...  :-) i'm sure the soulcast honchos will find a way to accommodate the massive outpouring of comments directed at you *wink*

lloyd -- you paint an intriguing yet credible tale, my friend. kruu is really like that, i must say, and i would have swallowed your story hook line and sinker... but you overlooked one small but crucial detail, sir. everyone here knows that kruu does not have a crooked smile, only a crooked hug. i suspect, sir, that you are somehow involved in a devious plot to kidnap kruu and sell her into slavery. maybe she's now languishing in some rio de janeiro whorehouse... and maybe we should issue an all-points bulletin to hunt you down instead... :-)

Hey everyone!  Here I am!  I was just teaching my friend how to use soulcast and thought I'd show her muunie's blog as a good example, and oila!  Four hours before my 48th birthday, and here is the most wonderful birthday present I could ever imagine getting.  Thank you all for giving me such warm fuzzies.  I know whenever I need to connect, I can always come here and count on your virtual huggies.  I'll have to admit that, when I first saw this, muunie, you had me going, too.  I was ready to get blasted.  I apologize for being away for the last few weeks.  My internet connection was so poor that I had to stick my laptop out the window to make contact, so that's why I haven't been blogging.  But I've got the problem fixed now, and in another week or so, when I get back from my trip to Poland, I'll be back in full force.  I'll come back to this post when I have more time and try to respond to all the lovely comments that you've left here.  Thank you, muunie and all of you for a wonderful start to the next year of my life!  = )  And a big, lopsided {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hug}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} to you all!
  • travelr712 said on Nov 18, 2007....

Okay, my friend has gone home, and I just had to come back and read through this again.  What fun!  Thanks again, everyone.

muun:  Tsk, tsk, tsk... my place in the sun?  You haven't been paying attention, my friend.  ;-)   By the way, I hate it when you disappear, too, and you do it more often than I.  Anyway, you've inspired me to do a list of the things I like about you:

    1) I like your dedication to your cause which, although I don't know exactly what that cause is, I sense it's a just one.

    2) I like your capacity for friendship... your ability to give just the right kind of support just when it's needed.

    3) I like your writing.  You express yourself in a way that makes me feel that I am there, and I feel the power of your experience and your passion through your words.

    4) I like your sensitivity and your non-attachment to gender roles... your ability to embrace your feminine side, and how that comes out in your sharing here.

    5) I like your sense of adventure.

    6) I like your multi-faceted personality... werewolf, confuscius, artist, painter, writer, father, brother, banana grower..

    7) Oh, hell... I like everything about you.  Will you marry me?  :)

queenie:  How could you ever think that muun and I would fight with each other?  Hey, pssst... your blog was one of the first ones that I showed to my friend who I was introducing to soulcast.  :)

quiet:  Nope, not on vacation yet, but I will be in a few days.  I've spent most of my time the last few weeks trying to get an internet connection in my new place and doing some interior decorating at the Winter Palace.  I'll have to put up some pics.  It's looking fab.

beyondce:  I promise I'll be back soon!  To tell you the truth, I just haven't been in  the blogging mood, aside from not having a connection, but I have a few posts in mind, including a new pirate episode (with a new pirate), so stay tuned, and hopefully, you won't be disappointed.

    botoni:  Oh, I miss you too, Sweetie.  {{{{{hug}}}}}}}}}}

Actorguy:  It never occurs to me that anyone would miss me, so it's nice to hear.  And it couldn't have come at a better time.  I've been feeling a little lonely.  Thanks.

mobil:  Let me guess.... 'twas you who tagged this post "boozer."  Well, my dear, there is a boozy post coming your way, by pure coincidence.

uniquely:  It's so funny you should say that.  As a matter of fact, not the KGB, but their counterpart in the States will play a significant role in my next post.

waking:  I'm here... I've just been lurking.  :)

    infernal:  Thanks  :)

Fallyn:  The last pirate really did a number on me... maybe that's why I have no wind left in my sails.  I guess I should blog about it and get it out of my system.

ed:  Did you really notice?  ;-)

crybabylu:  I know we were just getting to know each other when I "disappeared."  But I have been lurking and reading more than I've written, and I've followed your comments on various posts, and I like who you are.

    travelr:  I'm glad too.  :)

Lloyd:  Don't forget, dude... I have the movie rights to that little adventure!

muun:  The only way I'd work in a whorehouse in Rio was if it were filled with pirates and I got paid in tarts!

MM&I:  I've just been getting acquainted with a new animal... not a bug, but a dog!  Although there have been a few nice spiders and one mosquito around lately.  How weird is that?  A mosquito in Prague in November?

ginger:  I think if we plan it, muunie will be there.  ;-)  Hmmmm, set the day and time.... what would be a good season?  People usually do it in the summer, but I'm awfully fond of falling snow...   and it would go so well with your white dress.  Maybe I'll wear crimson to set it off and make it a little Christmassy.  What color should we dress muundoggie in?  Or should he be dressed at all?

trav:  You're not supposed to know about that!  ;-)
  • moonriver said on Nov 20, 2007....
kruu -- again, welcome back. you're no longer seeking your place in the sun? wow. you've found it finally? do you remember our exchange of comments in my "impossible takes a bit longer" blog?

oh, thank you for the list of things you like about me. i vehemently deny any involvement in #1-6, but i think i'll go with #7 as a delicious possibility...lol. and i'm so glad that villain barber lloyd didn't succeed in his devious machinations to entrap you in brazil. wait until i get my hands on that charlatan...

what? you no longer remember that horrible man who wanted an obese wife?

  • kruuyai said on Nov 20, 2007....
muunie:  It's not the concept but the wording that I was calling you on... remember my aversion to sunshine and my affinity for clouds, rain, snow, fog and drizzle?  :)  But thanks for the link.  It was nice reading through that again.

And you're on for number 7, but I really think you should be in on the planning along with me and ginger.  Any suggestions?  I see orchids and ants as a central part of the decor.

Don't worry about Lloyd.  He likes to think he's in charge, but he's really trapped inside a virtual reality of my own design.  I let him think he's pulling the strings, just like traveler described, but he can't even begin to come up with anything that I haven't already painted on his mental landscape.  ;-)

Oh that guy!  What was his name?  I think I subscribed to him.  I'll have to look it up.  Should be hilarious.
  • kruuyai said on Nov 20, 2007....
OMG!  That guy is really too much.  I can't believe nobody reads him.  He's hilarious.  Guys, if you see this, go and check out melpol's post about Thanksgiving and the homeless.  And comment.  I think that's why no one knows he exists.  He doesn't comment on anyone else, and he doesn't even respond to comments on his post, but he's so funny.  If you take him seriously, you could really lose it, but I'm pretty sure he's not serious... I hope.  :)
  • moonriver said on Nov 20, 2007....
hey trav and others who might have stumbled into this threesome-marriage scheme with me between two maddeningly luscious and eminently kissable ladies, here's a quick backgrounder.

on dec 4, 2006, kruu wrote her famous "why i burned my bra" blog. i commented... one thing led to another... we were both lonely ... lol... and before we knew it, she asked me to marry her. whether i accepted her proposal or not, is something between kruu and i. you can ask her if you want. you can search the archives if you want... ;-)

then, four days later, on dec 8, i wrote my own "my feminine side" blog. kruu pursued her relentless attack... and i was vulnerable... and so i asked her to marry me. but here's the twist. ginger and i had been eyeing and chasing each other across blogs around this time too. and this asian allupato could not resist the charms of an italian figone... one thing led to another... we were both lonely...lol.

and so an invincible threesome was born. and if you think that the three of us are just playing around and pulling everyone's leg... well, maybe you're right, but then again, what if you're wrong? lol. read this, and wonder if we're serious or not haha.

  • moonriver said on Nov 20, 2007....
ginger and kruu -- i know this exchange is getting more and more interesting, and i'm not one to shirk the task of walking the aisle (or is that walking the plank) in whatever state of deshabille or distraction...

    BUT...

this evening i have to attend a special concert, with a violin concerto starring a beautiful child who will hate me forever if i don't attend...and so my dearies... i will have to say that tonight, fatherhood takes priority to concubinage.

muun:  Thanks for the trip down memory lane.  I really enjoyed reading through those old posts and comments again.  Walking the plank, huh?  Does this mean that I'm going to have to come up with a pirate name for you?  In that case, I guess the gingerwench will need one, too.  Give me some time, and I'll come up with the perfect monikers.  I didn't know your daughter played the violin.  I love violin music.  I bought one this summer but haven't started up lessons yet.  I did, however, just put it on display in my room the other day.  Does that count for anything?  Enjoy the concert, and don't forget to get back to the wedding (gangplank walking) plans when you're finished.

ed:  Thanks, I needed that!  :)

my god, kruu, i'm positively horrified... you mentioned your birthday coming up, and that was 3 days ago, and not one soulcast blogger has greeted you a happy 48th birthday! oh, i'm so shamefaced. we're all social dorks here... including me, who'd been so preoccupied with violin strings and spilled dimsum noodles and an unexpected date with sophie...

so to make up for our unconscionable faux pas, i hereby lead in the singing of that timeless anthem for birthday celebrants...

muun:  Ah well, I'm not good at remembering other people's birthdays either, so I can't complain.  Thanks for the birthday song.  There were actually 3 people in my life who remembered my birthday without any prompting.... two of them real surprises... my former best friend and estranged business partner from Mexico, a 20 year old girlfriend from Poland, and my mom... lol.  On the other hand, the people that did not remember included my boyfriend from Mexico, my boyfriend from Thailand, and my EC from Colorado.  The Mexican boyfriend cluelessly sent me a whiny email asking why I hadn't sent him a photo of me recently, so I called him a pendejito for forgetting my birthday and expecting a present to boot!  So, he said that I could get even by forgetting his birthday, which is today... exactly one week after mine.  (I didn't).  I did have a nice birthday dinner with some friends here in Prague, in my favorite nooky, little teahouse.  It has soft lighting from floor lamps and a fireplace, vaulted brick ceiling... it's in a cellar... really cozy.  Maybe you and ginger and I can visit it on our honeymoon.   We'll have to start the wedding plans again to get ginger's mind off her troubles.

Wow!  And thanks for that hug.  I think you put just enough pressure on the opposite side of my lopsided hug to balance out my spinal cord.  Now, I don't have to search for a chiropractor.  Can I start coming to you on a regular basis?  = )
  • moonriver said on Nov 29, 2007....

sorry for not replying sooner. i've been distracted somewhat this past week, due to an irksome little hormonal reconfig problem that triggers rapid growth in all the wrong places (or is that "in all the right places"...? *wink*)

a cozy cellar teahouse... hmmm. can we skip the wedding plans and start planning the honeymoon right away? lol. and yes, my hugs and massages have that chiropractor effect. of course you can start coming to me on a regular basis. or is that "start coming on to me...?" or "start coming with me...?" sorry, my friend, i have this little problem with prepositional phrases...

muun:  Ah, you and your prepositional phrases.... or should I say pre-propositional phrases?  .... no, I guess it would be post-propositional phrases at this point..  Oh hell, let's just skip forward to the positional phase   = )

And I hope you have just as trouble with your verb tenses, or did you purposely write "will" instead of "would?"  Is there.. um... (gulp)... something you want to tell me?  (be gentle, oh hairy one).
  • moonriver said on Nov 29, 2007....
kruu -- roger that re positional phase. i wouldn't miss that phase for all the world.

as for "will" vis-a-vis "would," i often have trouble recalling my rules of tense conjugation in english. but now i realize that eating you when i'm in werewolf mode isn't worth it, nutritionally. i'd miss you too much...lol. so make that "what ever would i du..." haha.

i give up. you win the word game... at least until the missing lady ginger completes our threesome... :-)

  • kruuyai said on Nov 30, 2007....
I imagine being "eaten" by a werewolf would have its advantages... or should I say "will" have its advantages?  ;-)
  • moonriver said on Nov 30, 2007....
kruu -- you really want to go for it? okay, i'll take note of that, my friend. but i will have to find you another werewolf date, since the next full moon is on dec. 24, and my social calendar is totally blocked off from dec. 22 all the way to jan. 1.

let's see... i have this good old classmate friend named ephraim who works at the UN nuclear agency in vienna. a nerd outside but a roguish pirate inside, and who moonlights as a werewolf to spice up his night life. he likes to wolf down tarts... if you know what i mean. he doesn't believe in xmas, so i guess he'd be available. interested? lol.

  • kruuyai said on Nov 30, 2007....
How could you even imagine I'd be interested in someone who doesn't believe in Christmas?  I live for Christmas!  I'll wait for your next available full muun, thank you very much.  :)
  • moonriver said on Nov 30, 2007....
next full muun's on 22 january. it's a date, then. that's a busy workday for me. but you know us werewolves. we gotta eat whenever opportunities offer themselves... especially in such a gloriously delectable female form...:-)

  • kruuyai said on Nov 30, 2007....
I know, I know... and let me assure you... it'll be a feast!
  • moonriver said on Nov 30, 2007....
    :-p

  • kruuyai said on Nov 30, 2007....
Aha... I see you're ready... can you hold that until January?  = )
  • moonriver said on Nov 30, 2007....
ok. january 22. ;-p``` (excuse my werewolf drool)

  • kruuyai said on Nov 30, 2007....
I hope your tongue doesn't dry out before then... you'd be more like a werecat than a werewolf then.... ouch!
  • crybabylu said on Dec 01, 2007....
    Oh how funny.
  • moonriver said on Dec 01, 2007....
kruu -- that's one other thing i hate about yuu... yuu always have the last word, and i can't keep up... :-)

babyluu -- don't look at me lady. look at kruu, she's a lot funnier than me... :-)

  • kruuyai said on Dec 01, 2007....
muun:  That's what that big, werewolf tongue of yours is for... to get you through the hard times when you can't keep it up.  ;-)
  • moonriver said on Dec 01, 2007....
lol. there, ya see? always the last word. but then, maybe you meant the soft times. gotcha... :-)

  • kruuyai said on Dec 01, 2007....
Mmmm, soft times ahead.  Something to look forward to.  [sighs with contentment]
  • kruuyai said on Mar 08, 2008....
muunie:  Pssst... we missed our full muun date.  Want to reschedule?  ;-)
  • moonriver said on Mar 08, 2008....
hey kruu -- next full moon is march 22. in the roman catholic world, that would be holy saturday, when the whole of christendom is supposed to be staying in vigil for the coming joy of easter. a perfect time for a moon howl.

i've been neglecting my full-moon persona in the past months. but i'll tell you what, my friend. i will post my next werewolf blog on march 21 and let it roll over to march 22. how about that for the setting of the full-muun date? let's invite everyone. the more the merrier... :-)

  • kruuyai said on Mar 08, 2008....
muun:  I wasn't anticipating an... um... how do I put this delicately?... audience.  :p
  • moonriver said on Mar 12, 2008....
kruu -- correction: vernal equinox is march 20, and full moon is march 21, also good friday in the christian calendar.

maybe we should think of something else appropriate for the occasion...? i dunno. like, maybe, uhm... a midnight cross-ethnic tribal dance? :-)

how should we do this? i happen to like performing before an audience... ;-)

  • moonriver said 8 days ago....
