  Fallyn, you win the prize with your first two words. And yet, Waking Harmony was telling me that her husband, an expert in this sort of thing, would sometimes start cleaning off cables or something or other, replacing some little doodads or other, and get the car rolling again.

  my ex worked at batteries plus for 5 years....and would come home telling me about the rich yuppies who wouldn't listen to him that it wasn't the battery that had gone bad....but the alternator.
  
  so i'm guessing.....you're alternator quit.......and because it wasn't being charged...your battery went dead.

  Hey lennie get it fixed?? Thomas was saying it was our car needed new leads and he also poured baking soda and water over the cable connetion thingys to clean off the battery acid... I also heard that coke will do the same thing... also I know at one time I didn't know that our car batterries needed water (at least the older car batterys did....they don't usually run dry but can....

  Coke will clean off battery acid. Hmm. They should put that in their commercials. And if Coke is powerful enough to do that, it must be doing a pretty good job on your tooth enamel as well. I once heard that if you put a penny in a glass of Coke and leave it there for some amount of time or other, it will completely dissolve.
  
  That click click click sound is very disempowering to say the least. Here you are, thinking you are the master of a machine that goes VROOM! and you turn out to be the hapless dummy sitting in a machine that goes click and won't move.

  I know that feeling....you want to get out and kick the stupid thing for not doing as we.. "the mighty one with the brain"thinks it should do! And yell at the stupind car for not doing as you demand !! Now if you dont want to hurt your foot and het crazy looks for yelling at somthing with no brain....you hold it in!!!! then explode at someone else that knows what you really mean.... usually your S/O...   Oh Lennie I  once got my Grandchildren back in 1994...to not drink soda ...I took a piece of steak and put it in a glass of "soda" and said lets see what it does to your stomach over night... next morning the meat was all yuk .......I said hmm now we know what it does to meat....imagine thoese poor tummys......will they ever make it through to the next bithday cake??...no soda for a long long time.....
