Writing the post on names brought back a lot of memories.

That old car was my families car for awhile.....until i got my license.
when i was 18.

then it became my car.
because....if she had the choice. my mother would become a hermit.

so anyway. the first road trip i took was to a youth camp
it was fun.
and one of my girlfriends met a guy......
so.....we figured out we'd plan a camping trip.....and invite the guy.
well....he doesn't show up but his best friend does.....
the one she'd passed over in favor of his friend.
she ended up marrying this guy.

so...the second road trip is to go camping.
we'd invited a bunch of friends to go out to the beach with us....camping.....

in april.

in the rainforest.

where it rains.

by the ocean.

where the winds come.

yeah.

oh to be young and foolish. *wistful sigh*

i was meeting two of the guys going camping with us and they were going to follow me to the campground.

we're driving.
and it starts raining.

now...if you haven't been in the rainforest in washington.....in april.......
you don't know rain.

the rain is coming down so hard that to follow me they have to be within 15 feet of my car.....and then all i can see is their headlights, and they my taillights. ....in the day time.

we were young. and dumb. and going around a lake like this......a lake with barely any guard rails......and no hope of rescue if we drive in.

ahhh to be so foolish. *grin*

so.....about 4 hours later..... (this should have been an hour and 45 min drive)
we get to the campsite.
and it's still raining.

and the other campers are already there.....me and the guys are the last to arrive.
and no one knew how to put up the tents properly and everyone is getting flooded.
except my tent.
cause i'm not DUMB.

so the whole group of us end up sleeping in my tent.
probably the first coed sleepover most of us had ever had.

anyway.....the whole weekend was SO much fun.
two of the guys had guitars. and played.
and my best friend and i took turns with my camera getting awesome shots.

i still have a picture of him somewhere, in full camo regalia, complete with face paint....up in a tree .....ready to pounce on his brother.

he looks like an evil elf or something.
i miss him so much.

the guys took their instruments down to the beach...... odd things....drums and guitars and some weird kinda flute thing....

so i've got pictures somewhere of a parade of thrasher/grungy kids playing instruments down on the beach. it was so much fun.
i am a 90's gen x'er you know.

and of course, i'm building sand castles. as usual.

Why does it all have to end when you grow up?

I was helping my brother the other year he was or we were building this shop it is 120'x60' got the first half of it up and the three of us or four if you count Jackson his four year old son, his wife and me built these huge arched doors. he welded up the door frame. I welded up the arches and the Hindges. His wife did the wood work and well it looks like a big castle cause it is built out of these huge blocks, now he has built what is probably the worlds fastest 64 Buick Riviera he stared by building a super late model stock car chassis and putting the skin off the Buick it is a two hundred mile an hour plus street car. I asked him how fast it is and he said as fast as anyone dares  to drive it pretty much.  That was then; so I got the desire to hit the highway and here I am Backpacking Washington.

It is not supposed to end when we grow up, it is supposed to get better.  I had so many father figures that I saw the big differences in life styles.  While money helps, there are so many fun things to do together, fun things that really dont take that much money.  It is just a matter of finding the drive to do them after fighting the financial struggle, or the relationship issues or what ever the strife it is that is destroying the spirit of fun, excitment and adventure. to live with the strength of generosity in the daze of the week can be a real bitch.  I have seen both sides of the coin and taken a good look at the edge, i had a friend that got a hundred grand and he really was not that much happier with the cash, going to get it was as much fan as spending it if not more. Now some would consider me homeless and to them I say I have the biggest home in the world I call it Earth or the great outdoors. funny enough i always wanted to hike around as a teenager and was already to busy working to do it .  Ispent a month or so on the western beaches until it got to ruff and now i am ready to go back to school and start a new carreer maybe

I can remember back in the day when I attended elementary school...
I was in the third grade and we had been studying birds. My teacher seemed to be very interested in birds. She would talk about different breeds how they flew what they ate where they traveled in the winter time etc. One day I came up with a crazy i...
Tonight I keep jumping from SC to my email, as they had a recent "small" reunion, then some clown decided to send an email to all the ones who had responded to the invitation one of those "familiar questionaires" things just like here on SC! You know......
Well it's been an interesting couple of days for me...
You see couples walking hand in hand in the parks, at the mall, everywhere I go. I used to be crazy in love. How can a girl ask me to marry her and even buy me a wedding ring then turn around and cheat on me? I never wanted to get married....then I met h...
