A childhood friend of mine has asked me to be her maid of honor for her wedding.
I have accepted...but i have NO clue what to do....I know there are responsibilities involved in this, but i'm not sure what they are.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
Do you know the rules?
Are there any?
What do I do?

You can research it to be sure, but a lot of it depends on the bride.  If she is very traditional you may be responsible for a wedding shower or other more elaborate chores.  Why not schedule some time to sit down with her and discuss where she could use your help?

Wish I could help but we don't have the maid of honor at our weddings.

UI....we're sitting down on sunday.....it's going to be a very small wedding..but she's as lost as i am.......i think she is pretty traditional when it comes to these things though...and she's having trouble with her mother....i just want to help the day be extra special.
I don't necessarily agree that she's doing the right thing by getting married.....but i haven't been around her fiance so her mom may be over paranoid.
but i know from my own situation people being freaked out about it made it worse...not better.
i just want to support her in any way i can.

i wonder if there is a web site i can look at....like emily post or something.

queen...well....it kinda came out of the blue for me too....considering ALL my closest friends are guys!

she's pretty much the same way.....so didn't have a really close friend to be hers....and we were quite close when we were little kids....and our mothers are BEST friends.....so she asked me.
