i LOVED that car.....she took me so many places. i have a lot of fond memories of that car.

I've had several things like that.
I have a computer named Baby Blue. ....i built it myself.....or rather my ex has it. *sigh*

i name some things, but definitely cars! but it took my wife to name my first car, which we dubbed "roxie". roxie however has gone to the great repairshop in the sky, and has since been replaced with regina.

my first computer i named soulforge in a fit of emo enthusiasm. :>

    *laughing* that's cool though. *Grin*

My last car was named Diamond. she reminded me of an outspoken vegas lounge act. ..
Nissan Maxima in White.....with sports suspension. *fanning myself* i LOVED that car.
i totalled it. *sigh* oh yeah...another scar. :P

I think the car i have now is Matthew.....a forest green Mercury Sable station wagon.
kinda reminds me of a chauffeur or something.

of course i can't just name the thing like a normal person.....(not sure that sentence computes as written) ....i have to wait for the thing to impress it's name upon me.

OH....and i have a 54 International pickup........it's baby blue.....with giant red hearts painted all over it.
    his name is Timothy.
unfortunately i've never been able to drive him...his bed needs replacing.....

My car's name is Sally. It's a Mustang, so the name fit. And I call my computer Bessie. It's kind of a joke because if someone asks me a question, I usually say something like, "well let me fire up old Bessie and see what I can do."

Fallyn,    I see you started with a Chevrolet ... a good choice 1976 was one of the last of the good old days for the United States automobile manufactures . American automobile manufactures (I have know idea if I'm spelling manufactures properly) started producing vehicles made of cheaper materials to save on costs and to liten the load for better MPG in late 90's. My first car was a 1977 Chevrolet Monte Carlo fully loaded with all the goodies . . .blue with a white "landau" roof (surly I spelled that wrong). I liked my Monte so much that I bought another 77 , and an 84 Super Sport. I know only have first generation Monte Carlos in my collection.(1970-72)

Yes I too name my vehicles, my Chevy Blazer is known as Betsie by many, over the years she has helped pull-out alot of cars and trucks stuck in the snow, mud and ice.    I named my 84 Monte "The Breeze" after a song written by Lynard Skynard  .  .  . Plymouth pretty much ruined that for me but it was fun while it lasted.

I,m sorry to hear about the stress you must be going thru with court and all but when you are down and out think about cricketts.

Oh yes I named my piano Jakop. lol. Who knows why that was year ago.

Never named a car. My first one was a Saab and a Skoda. Pálmi had the Saab already when we got married so it was his and the Skoda I got from dad. Since then I have bought my own car but I had no peace with it as my older boy was monopoling   it.

You replaced your car with a vacuum cleaner?
  • silverwhisper said on Nov 14, 2007....
judging from the acceleration i get sometimes, i daresay i did!

My sisters decided that my parents cars needed names after I had left for college and they started driving.  However, they didn't give them an actual proper name, but more along the lines of what they thought they resembled, thus the 78 Chevy pickup became known as "Tank" and the 83 Oldsmobile Delta 88 was named "the boat".

Personally I have never named anything.

    Eilan.....bruce. *grin* interesting.

unassuming.....i can see that. i call things names like that sometimes.

Our '94 Honda is Old Faithful (and she'd better stay that way for a few more years!). :-D

DH wanted to name our Roomba.

My computer is Warthog - it's in a solid aluminum case that's heavy as all hell, and I was extremely fond of the Twisted Metal games. (Warthog is a slow, heavily armored Humvee with tripartite homing missiles.)

believe it or not ferny, i like twisted metal games also. :P

what did he want to name the roomba???

  • the_infernal_optimist said on Nov 15, 2007....
I believe it! :-D My brother always played as Mr. Grimm, so he was zipping around a lot faster than I did, but he was more than a little squishy. :-D I'd rather putter to a good vantage point w/Warthog and then just blast people to bits.

I don't remember what his candidate was for the Roomba's name. I suggested a variation of his name (well, the one he goes by) since it also starts with R. It's still just "the Roomba" for some reason. Little one is afraid of it; maybe that's why.

  • Fallyn said on Nov 15, 2007....
it's been SOOO long since i've played though....i can't remember the one i liked......i just remember it was FUN!

well....probably not a good idea to actually name the thing then....if she's scared of it that would likely make it only more alive seeming.
