it could be ANYONE......
it's been brought up here......that dog the bounty hunter and Imus should be silenced.
that racists should be silenced.......
simply put, who should be added to that list?

As infuriating as it is to let ignorant, predjudiced or mean people speak, I would not silence anyone. It's a slippery slope when you start censoring free speech. -

I would silence people who spread hate that leads to violence. There's a lot of that. I'd rather curtail their freedom of speech than accept the ensuing violence. (My position is a bit like the old "You can't yell FIRE in a crowded movie theatre" cliche.) Actually I think this is the single most important issue in the Middle East, and I'm sure it is a big issue elsewhere too.
I would also silence Mad Dog, of the Mike and the Mad Dog sports show out of New York, when he bashes the Yankees. I don't turn on my radio for the pleasure of hearing somebody bash my favorite team. That's why I don't listen to their show. I DO silence Mad Dog, by not listening. -

I despise anyone who wishes to silence other people.
Advice to all: Just because you don't like what others may say (or lack the courage/intelligence/grammatical skills to challenge their statements), that doesn't give you the right to even try to shut them up.
Yes, I know this is just a question, and nobody is really being silenced, but the eagerness of certain individuals to prohibit free expression is quite nauseating.

Fallyn, if I could silence a group it probably would be....those guys or gals who seem to know were I live and when I sleep. They can be soothing at times but they sure seem to know when to piss me off. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson probably will scream prejudice but they would be wrong. A lot of folks will not understand what I'm talking about and probably think I crazy for even mentioning it.
If I sound like I'm talking a little squirrely thats because I,m taking English lessons from the Queen if you know what I mean. . . hey that rhymes. . .cool.
Alright, back to the subject matter ...I,m talking about those critters who seem to know how to climb under my porch door and into my house! Yes I,m talking about CRICKETS . They seem innocent but they know when your tired. If you get a group of them...your done it will sound like a symphony... you think it will be over in a minute and it is ...but then they get their second wind.
Honestly, you see one in the house your tired you don't feel like chasing it you let it go thinking it will spare you.... ha ha ha...

i would love so much if there were no racists left to speak. but so long as their are racists i will defend their right to speak because i am defending my own right as well.
and the racists would love it if there were no more blacks to speak, or no more detractors to speak. we cannot pick and choose who to shut up.
