Over the past few months I have been debating which new mp3 player to buy. The creative zen vision m was my first choice. I had bought the creative zen micro before which served me well for just under a year before breaking. However, I liked the design and interface so wanted to stick with the same make.
Went to buy my new zen vision m, but they were out of stock. So the only other option was the 30gb iPod. I was about to go on holiday, so wanted one I could take with me, so I just bought it anyway.
So far so good, the width and height of the iPod is about the same as the creative, however, the depth is about half as much, making the iPod smaller and lighter. The video quality is top notch, you have to convert anything you want to watch, beforhand, and sometimes the sound goes slightly out of synch which is annoying, but none the less, is still very watchable.
30Gb is plenty of space. I have about 5 movies and 600 songs on mine, and it's not even half full. Music videos are also great to watch on the go.
The headphones aren't very good, so you'll need to splash out on some better ones, but once that's done, you've got yourself a pretty high quality portable media centre.
You can also plug it into the TV and watch movies through it that way. I haven't tried that yet, so can't say how well they come out. Shall let you know as soon as I get round to it.
