A while back I did a very helpful post for new bloggers;
This post was awesome, it had a ton of comments, which somehow were all erased.
At one point, there were -3 comments on it, which is an achievement in itself.
Anyhoo, I've been here for over a year now and I have learned most of the "tricks" you will need to learn, to get yourself noticed!
I gave five great tips in my last post and I would like to add five new ones!
1. Work on your description! This is what tells people who you are and makes them want to read further. Write something, anything! "I have a toaster and I know how to use it", is better than "Write a short description about you........................."
Actually, that toaster line is a great description! No one use the toaster line, okay? I may at some point, so it's off limits!
2. Try not to use your blog to talk about one thing only. You need to branch out and talk about many different things for other bloggers to take notice! No one, that's right NO ONE, wants to read 10 posts about "hot plump lips"! There are quite a few male bloggers who would read about hot plump other body parts.............but give the lips a rest already!
3. Let your personality out through your posts. We love eccentrics here, the more the merrier! So be silly, be obnoxious, be frightened of cheese, be anything you want, just be something!
4. Don't be a wallflower! You should read other posts and comment on those posts.
Also, be sure to comment on the comments you receive on your own posts. Get you user-name out there and people will subscribe to you. You have to really do your own PR around here.
5. Keep posting, reading and commenting. Try to post something at least once a week and pop in several times to read and comment on other posts. You can access all the posts you've participated in by clicking on the My Conversations tab on the SoulCast home page. Don't give up, or we'll assume you've been kidnapped by flying monkeys, or that your computer has developed a fatal virus, or that you really don't like us at all.
