Zayda's tags:
1 apple
3 tablespoons peanut butter (or other nut butter)
¼ cup topping (granola, cereal, toasted coconut, sunflower seeds, raisins, chopped dried fruit or a combination of these)

1. Core the apple.

2. Cut a thin slice off both the top and bottom and discard.

3. Slice the apple crosswise into 3 thick rings.

4. Spread one side of each ring with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter.

5. Place ¼ cup of topping in a shallow dish or bowl and gently dip the apple rings, peanut butte side down, into the topping. (Or sprinkle the toppings evenly over the three rings and gently pat the topping on.)

ooohh, that sounds delicious! And a great snack for a college student who obviously only has the essentials in her fridge (peanut butter, jelly, apples, cereal, bread and milk).

    Yummy! Thanks Zayda!

TBS--Yep, it would be easy for college students to make if they only have the essentials. If you have a bit of cinnamon, it's also good with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Lioness--It is pretty yummy and fairly healthy. :)

Silver--Well, this is actually the first recipe in the simple snacks series because it didn't quite fit with the cooking with kids series as, technically, we aren't cooking here. :)

    Pickers--Thanks. :)

Well, I did tag this one with the "cooking with kids" tag.

I think I particularly like this recipe because it combines two of my favorite things, peanut butter and apples. Heck, I like the apple rings with just the peanut butter on them and nothing else.

you know, i'm a big fan of peanut butter, myself. :D
