19th October 2007

We were on the but at 8.30.

We stooped in a village which
the guide called The two Marias. It is a
vacation village and there were not many people about.

We saw some flamencos on a
lake. And we stopped at the market. Mostly the inborns were shopping there
today.

It was rather cold and my
cloths were in the bus's luggage room. So I bought an Irish wool jumper.

Next stop was in an old fort
town. Called Eck mort. I write this by pronunciation.  It means Death Lakes.

This town was founded by
Ludwig  the 9th. They set up
twice from here on crusades.

This was once a sentury for
prostestants and then one big jail for Huguenots.

We walked in the fort town.
In once place Pálmi saw a shop where you can buy wine, which they tap for you
in bottles. We bought one. It cost 1.40 but the woman let my pay 2.10. I did
not say anything. The owner saw this and made her correct it. It had all been a
mistake and these were very honest people. I liked the French anywhere we went.

We looked at the church. We
were looking for a toilet when we met people in our group who asked me to help
them buy disinfect in the drugstore. They could not explain what they wanted. I
helped the people and they told us where the toilets are so that was a good exchange

Next stop was a gas station.
I could swear that my friend Eka was walking there. I saw her from behind and
she looked like her, dressed like her , the same kind of figure. Her side
profile looked the same. Then she looked at me. She looked very much like Eka
but was not her.

Now we are in Spain. In Catalonia. Pálmi saw a
sign that someone had made by the road and it said Catalonia
is not Spain.

We dined in the

 Catalan
Village. It is new but
made like an Catalan village.

We are on Costa
Brava. The town is Lloret de Mar. We have a very nice, big room
facing the swimming pool.

I rented a key for the
security box and for the fritz. I will get the money back when I go.

Dinner at 8 and there is
plenty of everything. The red and rosa wine is
free. Some people did not like the food at the French hotel. They were disappointed in French cooking but when we came to Annecy later they really liked the food.   We are sitting at a table with the
farmers Asta and Bjarni and we are to be at the same table while we are here.

After dinner we went to the
dance down stairs. Asta and Bjarni are very good dancers.

The pictures are from the French shop. The fort. The trees are seen from the Catalan village and the houses from our  room.

Wow, that sounded all too fun. (most of it anyway)  I would love to taste the wine that they put into the bottles from the barrel.  I'm not very fond of some French foods, but luckily there is usually a lot of different dishes during a dinner.

Uniquely.  The wine was good. You could get some kinds there and all to have with your food. So different from my country where you go in to the so called monopole store to buy wine and alcohol as only the state can sell it.

The meat in Arles was all cooked almost to stew, Not too exciting but nourishing
Yes it was a fun vacation but hard work too as we were always on the go. .

I just love that last picture with the trees.  It almost looks like Italy...kind of tuscan looking.  Thanks for sharing.  :)

Quiet.  Yes it is very southern Europe like. I saw them in Croatia too. Where I was there , it used to be Italy.

Wow! Thanks for sharing this wonderful experience with SC!

I smiled at the comments about thinking you saw your friend "Eka."  No matter where you go, you see people who look like someone you know!  This happens to me alot!

I love the 4th photo!  Wish I could live there, or anywhere as beautiful as that!

Twylarants.  Thanks, I liked that landscape. This was from the Catalan Village. Also mountains and hills there.
AnnaMay  And we certainly don't have a view like that either.
Ninjapirate.  Hi and welcome to my blog. Thanks.
Me.  Well I never thought I would go to these places so you never know. Maybe you will  ** Smile **
Mobil.  Thanks. We live in a country with 1100 years of habitation but we don't have much of old houses or such either. Due to that we build them out of sud and stone in the old days.
Wombat. Yes, it  was funny thinking it was Eka, except she lives on the continent, in Berlin and now a days she goes many places when she can. She takes care of her 104  yeas old mother. Luv Wombie.  Yes, the 4th picture looks so South Europe. Does it not. We could not have those trees here. I am sure.
