it's easiest if you use the link labeled "my conversations", i find. you could use the e-mail notifications, if you enabled 'em, but i've got literally dozens of conversations going on at once at any given time, and that's just a way too many e-mails for me.
consider looking at blog entries that use the tag "4newcomers" btw, you might find it helpful. :>

OK, all you need to do is go to the main soulcast page.
at the top at the left, there's the soulcast log. underneath that is a little welcome message. for you, it should say "hi, lisamay". to the right of that and just a bit upwards are 4 links: home, my users, my conversations and my interests.
a lot of soulcasters like to keep one page open to the my conversations page and maybe another open to a different page.
