DH has a phone interview tomorrow morning at ten.

I hope the kids aren't total terrors for me while I try to keep them quiet.

This one is with a company in a state we'd like to make our [at least semi-] permanent home. It's the only promising lead we've had in weeks and weeks.

I hate it when DH gives it his all and then they just don't want him. And it's not fair that they don't sometimes (of course, I'm biased, but he really does work hard and adapt/learn quickly, etc.). Yes, there's the occasional job that actually requires a lot more than the application stated, including things he can't do yet, but sometimes it just feels crappy on a whole other level.

So...here we go again. All crossables are crossed. We really need this, or something like it, and soon.

I will keep all my crossable parts crossed for you too! I hope he gets the job. And that you guys can finally settle in somewhere and have that home you always wanted :-) Good luck to you guys!

Just letting you know I'm here lurking and keeping up with what's going on for you.  We've been there, done that, and bought the his-and-hers T-shirts at our house, so I feel for you...  I really hope it goes well!

Wishing you luck here, too!  Went through this when hubby lost his job once due to an accident.  It was, OMG, for a little while.  He got another, but was nervous about it. It all worked out----and I bet it will for you, too!

Make a picnic party out of it when the phone rings...in another room or outside or something.  Tell them when the phone rings, it is time to quietly slip out out of earshot.  (Just a suggestion in response to what you said about keeping the kids quiet during the interview)

    Good luck!

Thanks for the crossed things and positive thoughts, y'all! :)

nyt: Please never feel obligated to comment, ok? I know you're around - though I certainly appreciate your words whenever you have any to offer! :)

wombat: The baby was in the middle of a bottle and struggling to stay awake when they called, and little one was engrossed in a magnetic fishing game she has, so they actually weren't any trouble at all. :) That's a great idea though, and I definitely would've tried something like that with the two-year-old if she hadn't already been quietly busy.

ed: I have no idea - he went to take a nap right after, but didn't look or sound upset, so I don't even know how it went. Maybe they already told him, "Nope, sorry" (as has happened before)...or maybe we play the infernal (:-p) waiting game now. (How're things on your end going?)
