Who's reading DecayedMind (7):
I can't pinpoint the exact reason why I like to read about conspiracy theories, but I do. Whether it is the JFK Assassination, the Freemasons, or all those alien documentaries that make the real world seem like an episode of the X-files, I am completely intrigued throughout most of what I am reading or watching.

My curiosity ends up getting me to look even further into these theories, usually ending in disapointment whn I come across something that completely disproves the theory. But that doesn't stop me from looking, damn it anyway.

There is also a documentary on how the income tax system in the United States is fraudulent and unconstitutional. You can find that one here. There is also a website that contains more information about this.

So what other conspiracy theories do you know about? Do you have any interesting links about them?

There's a theory that there is an organization that rules the world, and that includes the Rockefellers and some other ultra rich families anchored in things like banking.

One of my pet theories, if it should be called a theory, is that the international pharmaceutical industry is America's biggest political campaign contributor and has spent all that money on both parties in a successful attempt to own our government, which it does, explaining why the cost of prescription drugs goes through the roof and raises our health care premiums, and explains why Bush refuses to negotiate with them for lower prices like they have in Canada, and explains why they never get investigated when their vaccines cause SIDS, autism, and shaken baby syndrome, killing our babies left and right, and yet the kids have to get more vaccines constantly, not less, and not even watched carefully.

I'm opposed to income taxes.  I think all taxes should be sales tax because that is voluntary.  It should not be applied to necessities like food, but if you want a nice tv set or boat or car, you have to pay tons of tax to get it, and that's your choice, at least you get your whole paycheck.

That documentary actually goes into the Rockefellers and how some of the ultra rich pretty much orchastrated the stock market crash of '29.

I think the drug industry isn't all bad though. There's some good to it and some bad to it, pretty much like everything else. The only question is how much of it is good and how much of it is bad.

The good is that they come up with some good drugs.  The bad is that they get windfall profits, so they aren't just recovering their research and development, they are gouging us.  They attack the alternative health industry with their stupid hired "quack busters" who attack things like vitamins and minerals and chiropractors, and they don't put enough safety features in place with their vaccines, so kids become collateral damage because of their apathy, since they only care about profits.  The drugs are crucial, but the greed i can do without.

Reminds me of a song by Squeeze.  Something like "she doesn't mind the insults, it's the beatings she can do without".

With regards to the "organization that rules the world", this is actually called the NWO (New World Order) - there's an entire book on it by a guy called David Icke entitled "The truth shall set you free" which I'm reading at the moment. Some of the stuff he writes about is totally 'out there' while other bits seem to make perfect sense. I for one have a few of my own conspiracy theories, one of which being that the UK is slowly being turned into a big brother state without people realising it. More info on that one can be read here (http://www.praxis9.com/2007/10/find-distant-cousin-with-your-dna.html). I think one of the most obvious ones is the fact that both the British and US governments allow particular monstrosities to happen - call it collateral damage and use tactics to scare people into doing things they would not usually have done prior to the incidents in question. July 7th Attacks in the UK (Identity cards), Sept 11 Attacks in the US (Oil/War) are the most obvious ones that come to mind and David Icke even suggests that every major war in the past 1000 years has had direct influence by the NWO. Freaky stuff!

Ok, now really people, do you really think that any of these theories are real, come on, what are the chances that all of the people involved could keep thier mouth shut about all of the detials, and really, these are the same people that can't find bin-laden, cant balance a budget, and hell cant even secure a border yet we give them credit of developing a plan that involves thousands of people, from multiple countries (ones that we can't even get along with in most cases) and yet we think they are able to develop plans so intricate they should be able to solve the credit crunch in thier sleep.

Oh yea, and those aliens really do travel across millions of miles of space just to kidnap cattle and Rednecks

I'll give you a conspiracy theory that is real. The conspiracy to fix the price of gasoline around the world. It's called OPEC, and it is in collusion with the government of the United States of America and therefore our wealthiest oil magnates. This shit goes all the way back to Kissinger. And the international pharmaceutical companies are also in proven, real, price fixing conspiracies, as witnessed by their guilty pleas to price fixing in court. They also conspire to corrupt and own the government of the United States of America, which in fact they have succeeded in doing, explaining why they are the nation's largest contributor to political campaigns, even bigger than the NRA and the dairy industry. So there you have two conspiracies that have rock solid proof of their existence. The proof - their own admission. With OPEC it's "of course we exist, we're quite open about it". With the pharmaceuticals it's "yes, we are guilty of conspiring to fix prices in America, and if you ever hassle us about it we'll plead guilty, why not, because even if we agree to pay three quarters of a billion dollars in fines, which we have done, we don't care, we're just raising our prices to cover it, fuck you."

It is not a conspiracy when people are open about what they are doing, there is no secrets with OPEC they are quite brazen when they set prices, it is called supply and demand, conspiracy usually involves SECRETS you know area 51, roswell etc, doing something in the open and in the public view is business, as for drug companies, again not like we dont know what they are doing.... Actually that isn't correct about a conspiracy having to be secret. It just has to be a group of people coming up with a plot. Some conspiracies are secret, some are brazen, like OPEC and Kissinger conspiring together, or like the international pharmaceutical companies conspiring to fix prices. And since price fixing is illegal in America, you really can't even make the case that they are open about it, especially considering that BASF pled guilty and paid a fine of three quarters of a billion dollars for price fixing. They obviously didn't advertise that they were price fixing, and just got found out. So I'd have to disagree with the last comment completely. And the oil price has absolutely nothing to do with supply and demand. Where did such a silly idea come from? It's not supply and demand. It's a conspiracy to fix prices, originally set in motion by a prick named Henry Kissinger for his own nefarious purposes, and costing us tons of money ever since. Supply and demand, are you kidding me? They determine the supply themselves because they are a monopoly. Supply and demand? Bwa ha ha, as the Soul Cast people say.
