The page you were looking for no longer exists

Some time ago I wrote about a situation that I had encountered with my website.  I also wrote to my hosting company, HostGator.com.

The problem was that a group of people were using my domain name with made up email addresses to send out messages for a site that sells products for penile enhancement and performance control.

I did everything that the hosting company advised to no avail.

Without any notice, although they tell me that they did send a notice, my site was suspended!  I just sent yet another email regarding this issue explaining that I knew about the problem, contacted them, got nothing but a little advise that did not work and that I feel they should do something about the issue and reinstate my Website.

What a joke!  I know from experience that Hostgator.com won't do anything but tell me what I should do about it and that advice will require a computer programmer of remarkable talent to achieve.  It always does.

What's wrong with companies these days?

It seems to me that more and more we find ourselves paying for things through companies that either have no real customer service or that doesn't know what the word means if they do have it.  I for one am sick of it!!!!

I plan to develop another website, using another domain name, with another hosting company, but you can bet your horses that I will ask a few more questions of the new hosting company before I commit to anything.

Have you had issues with your own websites?  I would like to hear about it.  Or, if you have any answers or suggestions for me that would also be great to hear.

So do I Ed.  I will promise you this, I will find an answer to this issue and post it here when I do.  I am sure there are a lot of people just like me that did not realize that such a thing was possible and so easily done.

Wow, I swear Ed, when I first visited this after posting it there were two comments.  One from Ginger and another that seemed to be from you.    I may have read it wrong as I noticed that it was not signed in your usual manner.   So, where is that message?

(things that make you go, 'hmmmm')

I appreciate any help that I can get also.

Ginger, sorry, I meant to answer your post but as you can imagine it has been a wild day.  Not only have I spent most of it fighting with HostGator but I accepted what was suppose to be a simple job of 10 bare articles.  Ha!  They are 10 articles that require excessive detail no matter how bare bones you write them.  You should see this list!  One of them for example is, 'How to Build a Pool Deck'.  Now tell me how you can write that in 500 words?  My article was 1214 words and that was after editing it and omitting any opening statement!

To top all that off they wanted it by 6pm INDIA time.  Or 7:30am my time.  TODAY!  I didn't get the thing till yesterday!  I am good, (I think) but I am not that good.  One article was how to build a hydro generator.  I don't know anything about hydro generators.  Research takes time.

inspiration, the guys i talked w/ say that, in essence, your hosting site sucks. is this a free or paid site?

It is a paid site.  I have been paying for over a year.  Do they have any suggestions for a better one?

I talked to a man from the company that disconnects the spammers and he told me to go to GoDaddy.com.  But I just don't have a good feeling about them.  I argued with hostgator.com all day that day and into the night.  They finally reinstated the site but I am on probation.

When I got into my email accounts I found that an auto responder had been attached to them so that anytime I got an email the recipient would get this spam letter back.  As if that wasn't enough, they added a copy of the spam letter to my signature lines.  I found the program that was put in place by the hacker and contacted the man at KnujOn.com and he told me that the program also sent a copy of the letter to anyone that left any messages on my site.

I have removed the program and I plan to check the file manager daily.  I have also changed my passwords and the email server that I use.

Your friends are right though, this is not the first problem I have had with HostGator.
