Okayyy - so here it is - my 2nd day of blogging.
Received word last night about family friends of ours who went to Bermuda this week to celebrate their 3rd wedding anniversary. They are a young couple - he is 31 - she is 30. Both are pharmacists (although he is now working as a manager). They have a son a little over a year old.
They arrived in Bermuda on Tuesday (3 yr anniversary date) and rented a moped. They were hit by a bus!!!! My husband (who is from Jamaica) said that happens more than we know - because they drive on the opposite side of the road than we do here in America. Now I don't know if they were driving on the wrong side - or what actually happened.
He has a crushed shoulder and other injuries, she has a crushed leg which ruptured the artery in her leg, was bleeding for the 8 hours while in surgery - they don't know whether they can save her leg - or whether she'll even survive, and she is now on a ventilator. UGH! We are sick with worry.
The newpaper in Bermuda - The Royal Gazette - really downplayed the whole situation saying "the wife, 30, suffered injuries to her left leg and hand and the husband, 31, suffered a shoulder injury plus cuts and abrasians".
Okayyyyy - - being on a ventilator and not knowing whether she will make it - is a bit more than injuries to left hand and leg, she could die!!! Injuries to the shoulder - YEA - It was crushed...
Do you think they worry about the tourism dollars??
So Sad....
