However, this really wowed me.
Warren Buffet just made a tidy profit of $3.5 billion from investing just $500 million last year in oil stocks at PetroChina.
At this rate, he could beat Bill Gates as Forbes' richest man in America next year!
Do you really care or do you think that's just another 'the rich get richer' tale?
Me...well, it just makes me want to follow his lead, if only I could know in advance where he's putting his money!

buffett's pretty vocal about his politics so i find the idea that there's zero political angle to this a bit disingenuous, myself. but when berkshire hathaway gets into a security, he becomes IMHO rather a lot like the heisenberg principle of investing: you either know that he's there, or you can track the stock's behavior, but you can't know both, you know?

Ha-ha.... yeah, he's really like a big moving target with an even bigger cape!
Of course, the Sudan angle played a part - make money by holding the stock long enough to create a windfall and dump the shares before you're negatively tagged a Sudan govt. supporter or something worse.
