Is the PKK considered a terrorists group, guerrilla uprising, both, or something completely different? I know the Turks call them terrorists, but is directly attacking theTurkish troops an act of terrorism or an act of war? I'm unsure about this given that I can't seem to find anything about past actions taken by the PKK against the Turks. Considering recent events between the PKK and the Turks it seems more like guerrilla warfare than terrorism, unless you consider them one and the same.

To me the difference between guerrilla warfare and terrorism is the choice of targets, whether military or civilian. -

@7: That is the basic defintion I go by to. I remember reading articles about the PKK before that referred to them as terrorists, but the only actions I heard of them taking were against military targets.@Silverwhisper: I actually didn't here about that until I read your post. I guess it was expected though. I wrote this more out of curiosity than anything. It seems like this situation has the potential to undo the stability in one of the few stable regions in Iraq. -
