S. California Fires 2007

I started calling Monday Black Monday because the fires are eating through everything from bushes to houses and leaving a sooty mess in their path. Now it is Tuesday and it is obvious that CA does not have the resources to cover many of the hardest hit areas of Lake Arrowhead, San Diego, or Irvine. They are spread too thin as Santa Ana winds continue to spread embers like a cloth of destruction over the south end of California. There are 10 major fires going right now. I've had my windows closed since Sunday to keep out the ash and smoke. Fire crews have got to be exhausted and frustrated.
The closest fire to me is the Santiago/Irvine fire.
I have a friend in the Agua Dulce area as well. I can only assume she was evacuated on Monday.
There was a reporter on the news just now that filmed his very own house burning down in San Diego. That must have been gut wrenching.

    Hi Purple I wish you well hon I have family in Aqua`Dulce Off davenport rd they were on alert last i heard. they live up a trial wagon wheel rd.. their 2 kids in their 20s couldnt make it back down the hill to they're place and i have family up Sierra Hwy that were evacuated when fire went behind their mobile home. a few friends that are memebers of the Moose lodge lost their homes. as far as I know all family is still safe I miss home so much!!!! fires eartquakes mudslides and all. I kno w all those drills .if we had a  eartquake here  it would be a disaster!!! everthing is about brick! Good luck God Bless! margaret

    Things are still such a mess. I hope your family is all safe and sound by now. Did you know the Red Cross has a 'add my name so my family knows I'm fine' list? The Rose Bowl is going to have a giant fund drive on Sat. for people that want to donate aid funds. Over a million people had to evacuate. They are hunkered down in campgrounds, fairgrounds, churches, motels and with relatives. Large animals like horses and llamas are being sheltered at the Orange County Fairgrounds. Busy busy busy. We shall overcome.
