Galatians 5:25-26
"If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another." (KJV)

 

Many of us would like to be rich, famous, and loved by the general population. This is a vain desire, based solely in selfish thoughts. As Christians, God must come first in our lives, and any glory that we seek should be in order to lift up His name in the eyes and hearts of others.

 

As we work our way through life and towards success, it's important that we don't sabotage people who we see as rivals or competitors. It's also important that we don't become envious of those who have already achieved that which we are working towards. Both of these things create dangerous mindsets that shift our focus away from the work that God would have us do.
