This morning I was about to enter the elevator in my apartment when I was greeted by
a three foot midget with two mammoth great danes at his side acting as if nothing was out of the ordinary. Yes of course it's all perfectly normal that a dwarf accompanied by two ridiculously oversized dogs was glaring daggers at me. (yet another ominous sign that the world/universe/galaxy is going to the dogs)
And now another incredible (but true) dog story.
There is currently a "special pooch package" being offered by the Carlton Hotel on Madison Avenue in New York City. The package included deluxe accommodations for humans and their dog(s) featuring a special "doggy bed" where the beloved pooch can rest his paws after an exhausting day of shopping and sightseeing. Also awaiting the dog upon arrival is a welcome kit containing various doggy surprises. (I swear to God I am not making this up)
And there's more. The hotel celebrates the presence of their four-legged guests every Saturday afternoon when it hosts a "Yappy Hour" during which dogs and their owners gather at at special
meet and greet session. The Carlton's concierge is also on hand to offer suggestions about various "dog friendly" services and activities available at the hotel.
So there you have it--The whole doggone truth and nothing but...
Before all you Manhattan bound dog lovers get too excited, I'm sorry to report that this package is no longer available as it expired months ago. However be sure to call the hotel the next time you plan to visit New York and I'm sure these priviliges will be extended to you and your pooch.
