I was wondering how many people in the Soulcast community have engaged in public sex. If you have, was it in a pool, a car, etc?
Also, do you think there should be so many laws prohibiting the practice of public sex, or do you think it's okay so long as it's discreet?

Not entirely public- last time we were on a stopover in a certain airport we took advantage of the "family" washroom... No one could see us. As far as laws go, I think that as long as [u]nobody[/u]is going to see you... whatever. But if there's a chance that a kid playing in the park is going to come across your, um, activities? Shouldn't be allowed. -

[sheepishly raises hand] I'll give the same response I did on another forum. The ampitheatre on the VT campus which is directly below the president's house, The Grove, and right next to the Duck Pond. Against the back of a uhaul van at a rest stop while moving cross country. (To be honest, this was rather late at night, and the area of the rest stop for uhauls and trucks was more secluded than the rest.) So, yeah...ummm..public sex. I think that areas where children could easily come across your activites should be avoided. The rest stop incident would not have happened had it been during the day. -

there's a lot of ways public sex can go wrong, although in all likelihood, a lot of people's initial fears are somewhat overblown, i suspect. that said, you do get a bit of a rush at the risk of being discovered. i find labeling people "prudes" is kinda useless, to be honest. i mean, for some people, sex = missionary position intercourse and that's all; for others, it means swinging from the chandeliers as a daily occurrence. your definition of prude is dependent upon a commonly-understood definition of what people really do between the sheets. so long as everyone's happy w/ what takes place b/n their own sheets, it's all good, i figure. ed -

Once I did it in a beach with the car parked right under the street light so that nobody gets a distant view of the occupants moving hapazardly. It was nice. My GF also enjoyed the thrill of having done it in the beach which otherwise is overcrowded in the evenings. Personal favourite of mine as long as it's safe. I wouldn't put a female in a position where there was a chance some bunch of dangerous guys attcking her and I couldn't defend her. The safety element shouldn't be forgotten because you are vulnerable. But, in saying that I have lots of experience of public sex, in cars, on beaches, alleys, toilets, in rooms with other people around, in a bus (I was 15 and on a school trip), in parks, at home with the curtains open....whatever. As with most people I wouldn't be too comfortable with children discovering us in the act. And you have to be sensitive to the surroundings. Don't go and have open public sex in an area predominated by old people, children, or any group you know are going to be really offended because that's just bad manners.
