Okay, I just hate all the new cartoons they've come out with and think they are so bad for kids.  I know there has been talk of classics such as Bugs Bunny being too violent (Roadrunner dropping things on Coyote's head, etc.) but please ... they were entertaining and not half as bad as the crap they put out today.

I know some parents even like this newer one "Sponge Bob Square Pants" ... but it's not allowed in my house.  I think Sponge Bob is a pathetic, annoying little character and the entire show gets on my last nerve.  Then there are things like "Fairly Odd Parents" ... harmless enough I supposed but dumb and poorly animated.  Oh, and years ago, I had the displeasure of watching the PowerPuff Girls ... my oldest loved them - until mom found out what dad had been letting her watch and put a stop to it.  I liked the idea of girls fighting evil, but talk about violent.  And what's worse, the first episode I watched included them cloning a new PowerPuff Girl but they used too much of something and she basically turned out to be oversized, slow, and talked funny (as if they were making funny of people who were mentally retarded) ... I almost dropped to the floor!

I say let's block some of these newer cartoons and bring back the classics - Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Rocky & Bullwinkle ... Oh, the good ol' days.

What were your favorite cartoons?

Hillbillygirl, no I don't think there is such a thing really as "Saturday Morning Cartoons" anymore ... at least not the way I remember them.  Saturday mornings were always something to look forward to as a kid because of the cartoons.  Now kids can find cartoons on any time so it's just not the same.  Oh and Smurfs ... I forgot about them but used to love the show and collect all the figures!

Ed I agree, I loved the classics but am definitely a fan of South Park - a little adult cartoon never hurt anyone!

Eilan no comment on your last two : ) but I too loved the Peanuts ... at least they show the Peanuts holiday cartoons still every year.

hey k-lo, do you watch drawn together on comedy central? it's invariably rude and crass at times but at other times, it's painfully funny!
