My birthday's not until later this month, but DH ordered my present a week or two ago (he's usually much more of a procrastinator). It's been here for several days now. He was just bursting at the seams to give it to me, so - against my usual nothing-'til-that-day nature, and more because I'm a total little kid about my birthday and anybody else's excitement over almost anything - I let him, late last night when he got home from work.

Coolest.gift.EVAR.

He got this for me. Isn't that nifty?? I'd never seen anything like it.

Better yet, it was already full of pictures - he hacked my private Photobucket account and lifted pictures from our wedding day onward. Day-to-day shots of little one and of us, and of linebacker baby - pictures I hadn't thought about since I took them and originally added them to the site - pictures that made me laugh and cry as I sifted back through them. My Photobucket account is extensive (we're talking thousands of pictures) - it must have taken him hours upon hours to go through it!

He couldn't stop grinning. He knew I'd love it, and I'm sure my face proved him plenty right in the hour or so afterward that I was playing with it. :)

It occurs to me that this might be a good gift for some of your friends/loved ones, so I wanted to share. It certainly means a lot to me!

That is a really cool gift! I'm gonna have to get me one of those. That was a really great idea that your husband had. I got my parents a digital picture frame for Christmas and they loved it. It shows off a slide show instead of just having one picture displayed. I thought of buying one for myself but at the time, I had no pictures I cared about displaying anyway. But maybe this year? :-)

I bought my ol' man the same thing for Christmas, except it is a full sized photoshare.

    Aren't they cool?

That is a very cool....I'd like to have one of those myself. But I would think the best part of the gift was the loading of the pics by your hubby. That was a really sweet gesture. No wonder he was busting at the seams :)~

wombie: I had the same reaction - so freaking cool!

Artemis: He's pretty good in the gift department...I wish I could say the same for myself when it comes to him, as he's hard to buy for!

    Actorguy: Told ya! :)

sweet_c: Things like that remind me of when we were first journeying on this path together. :)

ed: Ohhhh, my friend, I have never needed a reason. :-D I just try to restrain myself for everyone else's sakes! ;-)

e_t: I'd heard secondhand about the virtual frames - those are very cool also, esp. the sort that you can update remotely via USB or whatever!

u-i: I'm glad it might be useful to you.

quiet: You'll love it! And thanks. :)

Batty: Yay! I love finding good gifts for people.

A_C: I bet he was impressed!

hbgirl: You're absolutely right re: the best part. :) It was funny to see him so excited, and then so sweet to know how much thought and effort he put into it.
