So I just met Weird Al for the third time! I should be asleep since I have to wake up in 7 hours, but I'm to amazed! Well maybe this is my second time meeting him, and another time he sang to me, that makes three right? He was super nice! He's so awesome. First time I met him was in Nevada, long time ago, while I was in high school. I was super skinny and wore this pretty simple bright blue sun dress. I made my mom go with me. We got kind of lame seats cause we bought the tickets late. After the show I saw some people waiting by his buses and decided we should too. We waited and his guitar guy and bass guy came out. They were really nice and I got autographs from them. Then his piano guy came out. I only had my ticket for them to sign and his piano guy was like "Oh let me see how much it cost to see us" It was like $30 or $40, which is what I paid now, kinda neat. Anyway, he was shocked and said it was to much. I was really happy, and we waited some more. Eventually they told us Weird Al would be out soon and no pictures and just an autograph. He came out and we got in line and one guy asked for a picture anyway. He said sure, seemed maybe a little annoyed, but that's all. Some people made little comments on if he got laser surgery, which he did, and shook his hand. I got up there and he asked "Hi, How ya doing?" I just said "good" and smiled and handed him my ticket and said "thanks" and left. Pretty awesome!
The second time I met him. He was back in Nevada, this was a few years ago, and my ex and I went. I made sure we got good seats, a few rows from the front. I remembered one part from the first show that he came out in the audience. He did that again and low and behold he was coming down my row! He stopped at me and sang to me for a little bit, it's part of his "Wanna Be Your Lover" song. I couldn't believe it! My ex didn't want to wait after the show, so I gave in and we left. I hate him.
Tonight I got to say hi! I'd been at school since 9am and the show wasn't till 7pm, took place at my school, so it worked out alright for me to just stay there all day. I have a quiz tomorrow, so I brought some things for me to study with since I got there a little early. I called my mom since I saw some lady on her cell phone talking and no one was around me. I was trying to relax, since it's been a long long day and this gay usher lady tells me to turn off my phone. Of course not the other lady whose chatting away on hers. She leaves and I let my mom go on talking for a bit, but it got me stressed out and a little mad. I tried to relax after that and had older people sitting by me, which I thought was pretty interesting, wasn't sure what kind of people would come in California. Mostly kids came in Nevada. The show started and it was really fun as usual. He added a lot of his newer songs and more Al TV clips, a bunch I haven't seen. It was super cool. When it was over, I called my mom while everyone else made their way out to their cars and left. She told me I shouldn't wait and to go home, but of course I'm not going to do that. I went by his buses again and there was a few people there. I thought I saw his bass guy talking to this lady, and he left in a minivan. I heard the lady saying how it'll take awhile, but Weird Al will come out. I waited there with maybe six other people. This guy came down and stood kinda close to me, while I was looking over my notes for my quiz. He was saying the lady next to us told him it might be a couple hours, but worth it right? I said of course and how I had met him before. He was really nice and I tried to make a friend again, but ya I really don't have a way with words. He mentioned how he didn't have a pen or paper or anything, and I said if he needed some paper I had a bunch, since I had my notebook. We were right by the music building and some music kids were outside and some came over to talk to their friends who were waiting. I heard them saying "So is it over? I couldn't go." and how they didn't really think he'd come out. I sat down on the sidewalk and figured I'd be there awhile. All of sudden the music kids say "Hey there he is" I get up real fast and yep he's there! He was heading for his bus and he waved to us all. I thought for sure he was just gonna wave and leave and I was gonna be sad. Then the security guys tells us all scary and security like to make a line and no pictures, just one autograph each. I get in line pretty fast. He was sitting on the steps of his bus and they let one person at a time go up to him. When my turn came I was super cool and handed him my notebook. He pointed to the back and said "Is right here ok?". Of course! While I was in line I kept thinking, what do I say!? So I just said "I met you in Nevada before, a long time ago." He said something like "Oh well it's nice to meet you again." or was it "Oh I'm glad you came to a show again." one of those! He handed me back my notebook and I said "Yep, well thanks!" and I smiled and he smiled back. He's so nice! As I was leaving, I stopped by the nice guy who was talking to me before and asked if he wanted some paper still. He was like "Oh maybe a pen, I was just gonna say I liked his show." I told him he had a sharpie and the guy said he'd like some paper then. I heard the music kids say "He's got a Weird Al sharpie!" Ah what an awesome day! Just what I needed to keep my spirits up. I can't imagine any other celebrity type person as nice as him. I'm always gonna be a big fan of his. So Weird Al thanks a bunch, you really helped and I'm so happy you stayed cool! I'm curious if anyone out there has met someone famous and how it went?
