When I was in High School I was a leader, and I could be bad.  Okay, not so bad, I was in Honors classes and an athlete but I did like boys, beer, and occasionally crossing the line and getting away with it.

My favorite prank of all time got the entire town talking.  One night my friend Laurie and I went out on the town.  We were bored - no parties to go to - nothing to do.  So finally, I had an idea.  As we passed the local Credit Union and noted the announcement on the sign outside, I became inspired.

Now, I grew up in a very small town in Maine, so the Credit Union was in the center and you can bet everyone in town read that same sign when they drove by.

This particular evening I noticed an announcement Curtis Somebody (the last name slips my mind now) was named Associate of the Year, only they had abbreviated the spelling to Assc.  Now being the trouble maker that I was, I made my friend drive up as close to the sign as she could.  I looked around, making sure the local cops were rounding the corner, and I knocked the "c" right off the sign, then collected it off the ground as a trophy.

I then ran to the car laughing hysterically, as if I'd just committed a major robbery and gotten away with it or something - I was that impressed with myself.  We drove a safe distance away and stopped to admire my work.  The sign now proudly exclaimed that "Curtis Ass of the Year".

The next day I was so proud when a friend of mine who worked at the Credit Union called to share the story with me.  They were convinced that it was a fluke and the "c" had been blown off in the wind.  The entire Credit Union staff was roaring about it!
