While looking for the Icelandic dog I found some videos of the Icelandic horse which is a special kind too. I wanted to post this all together but I ran into some problems. I am trying to post videos of the horse now. The song on the first video is a famous Icelandic folks song which I have known all my life. It´s about riding over the desert and there are some out laws lurking in the dark. also ghosts and fairies.

Skald.....They are beautiful! What a huge number there are. Are they feral horses (wild)? I m amazed at the uniformity of their stature and the varience of their colors. -

Botoni. They are not wild. They were brought here by the settlers. They have been called the most needful servant. They were our only transportation beside boats for 1000 years. They are horses not ponies. Some foreigners called them ponies in the old days. they can carry much even though they are small. I found this for you if you like to look at it

skald ~ That is a huge round up they have. a lot of horses. That is also a very unusual gait they have. Quite uinique. It must be a very smoothe one as the riders don't seem to be bouncing much. It is very interesting..thanks for sharing. -

Quiet. They have many kinds of walks and one named tölt that is not known anywhere else. Yes, they can be very smooth.
