I look at my sweet little grand-daughters and wonder if the religious people realize that when they tell everyone that they are going to hell or going to die because they do not believe in their version of god that they are speaking to their own children and grand children? Do they think it will be any fun in their created heaven if none of their loved ones are there? How can they say they love when they look in the face of babies that they are condemning? Oh yes, they claim,no, it's not them, it is their god that says this terrible thing. How can they continue to follow a god that would say such a thing and allow him to be the leader that they follow?Every mainstrean religion seems to have the same story, the same focus. Do they not see that? Jesus said to love the children of the world. Is that mandate being followed by condemning them?Peace

I just read that there are 11,000 religions in the world. It makes me wonder if all of them claim to have "the one right way?". Do each of them feel, teach that any one that does not believe as they do will be punished or go to some place called hell? It seems that if we could just believe in the things that we do see instead of the things we do not that we have consistantly been taught to believe in we would be better off. We can see our planet, trees, water, plants, animals, people. We can see the rain, sunsets, sunrises. We have never seen a devil, a hell or a god on his throne. Since we have not why do we believe in them? -

I met a man the other day who explained his version of Christianity. He was a very unhappy man who siad that any neighbor was an enemy. He also said that all of the drivers on the road were idiots out to get him. But his understanding of his religion was that he needed not change his behaviour, his attitude, his words or actions towards other people. As long as he believes in Jesus he is assured to go to heaven while all of the other people are going you know where. This is the problem. These "you do not have to learn, to change, to be a better person religions" create the problems in the world by fostering such a belief. It is like saying if you do not love people it is all right because if you believe you are going where all of the loving people can't go. Whew---So sad. They have no work to do so they can be angry, resentful, have hate in their hearts and lives and be rewarded for their poor behaviour. Do nothing religions I call them.All of the responsibility for their lives has been taken away from them. Is it any wonder things don't change and that the world is in the shape it's in?????Peace
