I've been trying to think of a name for a new potential pirate in my life, so I stumbled across this site for finding your pirate name.  I'm still not sure if I'm going to continue with the pirate motif for the new "men" in my life, but play along with me and find your pirate name.  I'll tell mine later.  And somewhere along the line, I just may be introducing a new pirate!  Ahoj!

    This was my pirate name!

    Dirty Tom Rackham

You're the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean -- not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

Kruu, I don't understand why I'm the stinky pirate! I chose the option that I bathe daily, and yet somehow, I'm smelly! Go figure?

Mad Tom Flint- Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. Like the rock of flint, you are hard and sharp. But also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky.

I say there kruugirl, hoist those sails!
  • kruuyai said on Oct 03, 2007....
e_t:  Well.... what exactly is it that you bathe in???

    ed:  taste and edumacation... arrrrrrrrrrrr!

tizzy:  A tough musician with flair.  I like it!

beyond:  Hard is good.  I'm not so sure about sharp!  The sails are hoisted, and the old skull and crossbones is waving in the breeze.  Hit the high seas at dawn!  Arrr!

A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you a tough person. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!

Ahoj Mates!  Looks like we've got a pirate convention here!  Since pirates aren't known for their good manners, I'm going to be rude and not respond to every comment.  Just the one who added something of their own:

secret:  Deadeye Prudence?  You really do want to cover up your secret life, don't you?  lol

polar:  Aye, that'd be a bonnie name.  How about Quakin' Frozen Heart Bonnie?

Infernal:  How do you know so much about pirates?

ginger:  One roast parrot comin' right up, lassie!

Actorguy:  You da' boss... but not on MY ship!

Lioness:  Thanks... so do you think I should stick with pirates or go for something else?

pickers:  It's what all the pirates are wearing to the ball!

Mamie:  Yer in charge until I say yer not in charge.... or I'm makin' ya walk the plank!

    exhibit:  Yo ho ho!
  • Lioness said on Oct 04, 2007....
Kruu, personally, I think your pirates motif is very creative and unique. Hunting for them may be as turbulent as the raging ocean waves, but  I say: stick to it! =)
  • kruuyai said on Oct 05, 2007....
Lioness:  Perhaps I shall.  After all, I do live in a country where people say "Ahoj" on a regular basis!  :)
  • the_infernal_optimist said on Oct 05, 2007....
kruu: Well, I live in a state whose coastline has a rich pirate history (as most ocean-bordering states do, I'd imagine). If I told you our most famous pirate's name, you'd instantly recognize him (most likely).

Pirates - one of a zillion random subjects that interested me at some point as a kid, so I read a ton about them.

Also, my now-dropped middle name is from a red-headed pirate who sailed with Calico Jack.

  • the_infernal_optimist said on Oct 06, 2007....
Nope, not Floridian! Our most famous pirate actually started life as a Brit (they think). He lit candles in his beard (actually strands of hemp, most likely) and was quite a fearsome sight by all accounts!

Oh, and he could have gone by the nickname Ed. :-D
