Today was my day for pampering.  I'm sporting a new haircut and hair color.  I feel beautiful.

When I walked into the salon this morning, I had convinced myself that I was going to stay golden blond.  I've been that way for a while and have truly liked it.  There was a shade that was very close to what I already had.  I chose it and then went to the second choice my hair stylist suggested. I decided to take a chance on something new.   I felt like change was in order. I am now a warm golden light brown with just a hint of red undertones.  I absolutely love it!  It makes my hazel eyes look greener.

My haircut turned out just like I wanted it to.  I now have a true chin length bob.  The back is layered just a bit to give it volume.  The sides and back are finally the same length. I have a few wispy bangs.

I feel like a new woman.

It's amazing what a little makeover can do to lift your spirits.  I needed this so much.  It was definitely worth the money I splurged to have it done.  I feel trendy and young.

Has a makeover ever done that for you?

hm...i wonder what would happen if i did get one?

Nothing like time in the salon to put a spring in your step and sass in your soul!

Good for you CW, I think it was just what you needed too.

CW...good for you!..:-)...you know, a picture would be more than required now...lol..

I have had two biggest makeover......because my endless changes of hair color dont really count...

The first one happened soon after a painful break up with a guy with whom i had been for 5 years.....my hair were long to the waist and straight in my natural color that was, if i recall well, dark brown...lol..

Well, i chopped them all to the neck and i got a perm! After few weeks i added to the perm a lighter blondish-reddish color. All that stress made me loose a lot of pound too so that a lot of people wouldn't even recognize me! I also changed my  outifits and started to use make up....  I really felt like a new woman...

The second makeover happened after giving birth. Eventually all the pounds shed off and i was sick tired of keeping my hair on their natural color. During the pregnancy i had the most waved hair ever, even without a perm. So when i decided it was time to change i had simply to cut my hair so they lost all the waves and came back to be straight and  i went from my dark color to a dramatic golden blonde...and again i changed my look......and my attitude too.... :-)

Never underestimate the power of a haircut....lol..

isn't it amazing how a simple thing like a new hair style or color can make you feel
beautiful?  i'm so glad you got yours done!
yes, i've felt this way whenever i do the littlest thing for myself.....
i remember the first time i had my eyebrows waxed.
i came home and thought........wow, if only i knew it was so easy to feel good!
all those little things we do for ourselves really matter.

Glad to hear you ve had a great day at the salon and are hyped from the results! Yup...now and then I do a guy make over. That usually means a change in the way I retain facial fur and a new pair of glasses. Sometimes I even let the fringe on top hang around for awhile. My thought is coloring it all makes me look like I m trying to hard so it pretty much stays the way it is.

I had a makeover of sorts in July, and it really did change my perspective for the better. It's amazing how looks "shouldn't matter" or whatever, but when you feel confident about the way you look, your whole attitude improves! :)

I'm so glad you treated yourself to this - you deserve it!

There is nothing better than a great haircut and color!!! It really can make you feel beautiful :) I'm so happy to see your spirits lifted and I think you should do this for yourself more often!

I have never had an actual makeover, but I love having my hair done professionally. I always feel much prettier when I leave the salon and it's money well spent!

I love the bob hairdo. I used to lust after a co-work who had a bob. Not
sure why. I saw her recently and she no longer had it that way. The lust
was gone, pretty much. Are you a natural blond?

Hmm.. The description itself says you are gorgeous, CW. Congrats to the new look!

Yup, I must admit having a make-over does something nice to the way we feel. I know the feeling about being the "new you", it's exhilirating, especially when we see affirmative ahhhs and ohhhs from friends and relatives.

Congrats.....sounds like you're truly happy with it!  I've never had a makeover myself.  Might just have to try it some time.  :)

I agree with that statement.  A bad one can drag you down as easily as a good one can lift you up.

    Alyss,
You should treat yourself.  It can really make you feel wonderful.

    secret,
It is amazing.  The little things do really matter.

    ET,
Thank you.  I sort of felt like a queen for the day.

    Mamie,
Thanks.  I have suffered physically and emotionally a bit.  This was kind of a step to help let that go. I wanted a new me to move on.  :-)

    skald,
    Thank you. :-)

    botoni,
I'm glad you take advantage of a guy makeover.  You guys deserve to reinvent yourselves too.  :-)  Thanks.

    Infernal,
Thank you.  I also believe that if you feel your best on the outside, it helps how you feel on the inside.  I'm glad you had a makeover too.

    Artemis,
I did feel like a million bucks.  Thanks. :-)

    Mimi,
Thanks.  I felt like a real glamor girl.  :-)

    Natalie,
Thank you.  It was money well spent.  I forgot all about my other worries for a good long while...and I still don't feel half bad.

    MMI,
    Thanks.  :-D

    ALIENATED,
I'm sorta kinda a natural blond.  It's more of a dishwater blond though.  I prefer it to look more golden, so I color it.  I'm loving the bob.

    Lioness,
I haven't seen too many people yet to get their reactions.  My husband prefers my old color and style to this one.  He would rather I look more farmish than sophisticated, I think.

I'm glad you have enjoyed your makeovers.

    Unknown,
You really should try a makeover.  It does wonders for your outlook. :-)

    Batty,
Thank you.  I thought the same thing.

    knowledge,
Thank you.  I try really hard to be positive.  Hopefully I am more often than not.

I can see you had alot of comments to respond to, and I am here on the tail end of it, but wanted to say I am glad you enjoyed your day at the salon and have a great new look.  I have never had a "make-over" but would like to.  You don't have to dig back in here and respond--just wanted to say I am happy for you, too!
  • CreativeWoman said on Oct 02, 2007....
    wombat,
I'm always happy to respond to you.  :-)  Thanks for adding your kind words.  I don't splurge on make-overs very often, but this one really felt good.  Maybe you should try it sometime?
