I want to paint a picture
Paint a picture of a place I long to be
Using colors to enhance my world
Different shades of blue
Pops of white here and there that dance across the sky
Pale yellows and off-whites to buy my toes in
Shades of brown standing tall
Umbrellas of green to shade
Bright hues of yellow, orange, and red to shine right on through
Invisibility must be present because it is the “whishhhhhhhhh” that blows my hair
Sounds of crashing waves as they come to rest at my feet
I want to paint a picture using the most brilliant colors of the rainbow
I long to see someone walking beside me
I see the prints
I feel the soul
But that friend remains in the shadows
I want to paint a picture of no loss
Of no pain
Filled only of love
Friends
Family
And my very smile as my heart feels safe and pounds hard
This painting is mine
To alter at my will
To escape to when things seem lost
My place to see who it is that walks at my side
