Cheap or expensive? If expensive, it would be hard to beat this price. A $1,700 per night hotel in Sri Lanka has set a price of $14,500 for its most deluxe dessert.
In spite of the poverty and squalor in the country, the premier hotel's managers figure that such an exhibitionist offer would take the local people's minds off their suffering and war tensions.
Some great hotels in New York cost $200 per night, for crying out loud! Ooops...sorry, I had forgotten about the stinking rich.
Any way, they say it is for foreigners who can afford it. Someone has ordered it in the mean time. Nothing for me, thanks - believe me, I am full right now.
Would you care to order yours now, Sir/Ma'am? Ha-ha.

It certainly would have been much more noble if the hotel management had stated that the proceeds would go towards improving the lives of the locals. -

SW: ha-ha....it very well could, especially when some thieves target their cache of gem stones for the dessert - I can't imagine a diner has to give some form of notice in advance before ordering it. :->
