I've seen a lot of news again recently about medical marijuana and the pot shops in California.
I agree that though it is legal to use for medical reasons, a sore ankle (i.e. one that isn't broken or even sprained) should not qualify as "medical" and should be deemed abuse of the system.
That being said, what about the system? Is marijuana really the issue that we need to focus on in our country? I don't smoke it myself though I certainly tried it back in my college days, but I have friends who do and I frankly don't think it's a big deal. Alcohol can be a lot worse than marijuana from what I've seen! Just think of the money to be made in the industry if it were legal ... okay, just think of the money being made in the industry now though it's illegal.
Have you ever watched the Showtime series "Weeds"? About the widowed mom who starts dealing weed to cover her mortgage, etc. It's hysterical!
Anyway, just voicing my two cents. I am sick of reading stories about the medical marijuana debate ... I just think there are much worse things out there that our government turns its back on!
