Yesterday I got this invitation to a friends movie premiere party. It's not a 'real' movie though. It's just an independent film he's hoping will get him noticed. And just to make it fun, he rented out a theater and is going to have a premiere. I thought it was a great idea! At least until he told me I had to treat it like an actual movie premiere and get all dressed up. He wants all the guys wearing tuxedos. Ugh. I hate tuxedos. But for him, I'll do this. That's how awesome of a friend I am.

I actually think it's going to be a really great time. For the evening, we all get to pretend we're famous and stuff. And you know if you pull up in front of a theater wearing a tux, people on the street are going to assume you're important, even if you're not.

Natalie was really excited about it, and of course she thought this was a great excuse to shop for a nice dress. I think that's what she's doing right now probably. But I also thought it'd be fun to rent a hotel suite for the night too. Even if the theater is 5 miles from our house, it'll still be a good time. And I know how she likes to collect miniature hotel shampoo. Our last weekend getaway didn't have shampoo you could steal because it was a bed and breakfast.
So I'm really looking forward to Saturday night. It was a last minute thing that was thrown together, but I know my friend will make it a party to remember. And if anyone asks me who I am, I'll come up with something really cool to tell them. If I was taller, I'd say I was a stunt man. But then again, people like Tom Cruise are really small. I'm Tom Cruise's stunt double. Yeah, that sounds good...

Have you ever lied about what you do for a living to impress someone? I've always wanted to do that just for kicks, but I never actually have. I could really have fun with this though...

so wait, is your friend the director, then? that's so frigging cool, man!

and no, to answer the question, i've never lied to someone about my job. i'm a bad liar, i find. but more than that, i'm perfectly capable of iimpressing people w/out having to lie. :>

silver--He's the director and the producer. He put the whole thing together himself. He hired the actors, filmed it, wrote the screenplay, everything! I did help him with the editing process and another of our friends wrote the score, which is really awesome. But of course, none of us were actually paid for this. But it was fun anyway. I hope he can get some recognition because he's really talented. And lucky you that you don't have to lie to impress people! I don't usually feel like I have to either, but sometimes for fun, I'd like to see what they'd say!

i better clarify that statement b/c on re-reading i sound like an incredibly arrogant ass!

i've been very fortunate in that as a rule when i meet new people, they're usually positively disposed towards me b/c we've had some kind of interaction already. on top of that, i'm a fairly charismatic guy IRL. if i want to make a positive impression on someone, i usually can.

wow, that sounds pretty cool!!! have fun!!

when I was about 17, there was three of us that used to go out in to town every weekend, we were all single and happy that way, but we used to make up games every weekend and challenges! like kissing 50 guys in one night!! and stuff like that, one of our games was making up utter crap about ourselves!! we went out one night and every pub we went in to we had different stories!! we were all hostesses in one pub, I dont remember the rest we did, but I am sure we struggled with keeping it up after the 3rd or 4th drink!! lol  :-) x

Ahhh! I typed up a comment for this before and when I hit submit, I lost my internet connection!!! Grrrr.......I was hoping it went thru anyway but I guess not. Then I had to leave for a hair appointment...........

    I'm back though!

What I said before I was rudely disconnected was that I am sooooo excited for this!!!! I think it will be so much fun even if it's not a real movie premeire :) And if you get to be a stunt man, can I tell people I am a nurse on General Hospital? LOL!

Destiny, your game sounds so fun!! LOL! When I was in high school, me and my friend would always tell guys that we met when we were out that our names were Brenda and Kelly. We got it from the tv show 90210! And I would talk about my boyfriend Dylan and my brother Brandon..........also from the show!

Only one person I remember actually realized I was lying b/c they watched the show! That was fun........

silver--I never seem to have a problem making friends myself. But I guess my goofy nature forces me to want to do something crazy like tell them I'm a stunt man!

destiny--Sounds like you and your friends have a great time together! I love doing stuff like that too.

cutie--I missed you both times you were here! Ah well. I'll see you soon enough and I hope you're doing well on your job interview! And yes, you can be a nurse on General Hospital if you want! I would love it if you said that to someone. I'd die laughing!

tizzy--Cool! I'm glad you guys caught each other. I stayed away on purpose so you guys could have your girl talk time :-P

silver--Yes, the trout! Now if you meet someone, you should tell them you're one of those guys who slings the fish at the fish market. Like they do in Seattle! I bet that would make for a good conversation!
