The page you were looking for no longer exists

Right now I live in Florida, moved from Minnesota
18 years ago. The weather is beautiful and excluding
the huricanes, life is pretty good..
However, if I could, I would love to move to a small
town in Europe. I picture an old town with cobblestone
streets and old quaint buildings.
A place where there are no car bombs and people
just live and enjoy life.
Maybe I'm looking for Utopia, but wouldn't it be nice??
Where would your dream place be???

I've thought about this many times. Except I usually think of a larger town described similar to yours. Although I've never been to Europe, the place I dream of is Florence, Italy.

I'd like to hear from someone in Europe.
I haven't been back in over 10 years and
some places I went were very dirty as in
a lot of trash along the roads...
    Has it gotten better ???

Hi, If you knew more European history you wouldn't think it so quiet and ideal. ......I'm living in the best place for me, Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee. It's perfect weather except for three months in the summer when it is hell. They are thinking of enclosing the downtown area's main street. Some day all cities will be domed and 'air-perfect'.... If I could have my dream place, it would be in a hovering flying saucer over Arbel Mountain just north of here. No noisy neighbors or city taxes and I'd have a good lazer beam for any missiles coming my way.

I live in Europe, but I'm still looking for that perfect spot.  Every place seems to have its pros and cons.  The really beautiful small villages all seem to be overrun by tourists, and if you find a truly hidden paradise, the locals are likely to be hostile.  So far, I'm enjoying the hell out of living in Prague, but it's no small village.  Cesky Krumlov is great in the winter, and from your description, I think you'd love it, but stay away in high tourist season.  It completely loses its charm.  You might try the Cinque Terre in Italy.  It's not accessible by car, so it probably has retained a lot of its original charm, although Rick Steves has publicized it so much that I imagine it's overrun by tourists as well.

Does third person stories bother you?
Do you not get a sense of caring for the character if they're unnamed and you don't get the classic description learning about the character, and instead have them thrown into the situation?...
I talked earlier about just my utter lack of motivation, and the burn out I was suffering from. Those are very much still entrenched.

But that blessed numbness was too good to be true. I should have known it.
