Lately, it seems like quite a few people here have posted about dreams they've had and are curious what they might mean. To me, dreams can tell a lot about a person. It's like a window into someone's soul. And over the years, I've spent a lot of time studying dreams and their meanings. I guess you could call it a hobby or something.

But I've got several books on the subject and whenever I run across a post where someone wants to know what their dreams mean, I eagerly try to help. But I've surprised a few people I think because I guess no one probably expected me to know about stuff like that. But I do. I guess it's one of my secrets, only it's not that secret anymore.

I thought I'd put up this little post just in case anyone ever has a dream they're curious about. I might be able to help. I enjoy doing it actually. I can't promise I'm right every time, but so far, I think I've done pretty good with those who I've tried to interpret.

So yeah. That's something about me that maybe not everyone knew about. But you do now!

alright I had a dream last night that my boss was forcing me to do his sons' homework (they are in college) and it was some sort of collage thing that he though was an idiotic assignment for them....so he wanted me to do it....I was so pissed off!  I was so mad I couldn't even talk in my dream!!  I kept grunting and my boss didn't even notice I was mad!!  It frustrated me so much that I was on the verge of tears when I woke up!!!  But.....I can kinda guess what that was all about :)

I have a lot of dreams about being chased.  I've tried to tie it to what's going on in my "real life" but they don't seem to happen any more when I'm stressed than when I'm happy.

laltely ive been dreaming about one of my classmate... with very naughty thoughts on it...; )
  • evil_twin said on Sep 25, 2007....
pickers--I believe dreaming of a dumpster means you want to throw all your husband's junk away!

tizzy--I would say that you feel underappreciated by your boss and you really wish you could give him a piece of your mind. You think he's clueless. But I do imagine you knew all of this already, huh?

uniquely--Usually if you dream about being chased, it's because you're avoiding something in your life. Or it's a metaphor for an insecurity you have that you can't seem to conquer.

queen--I think your dream means you wanna sleep with your classmate :-P

I had a dream the other night that has stayed with me.  I was walking through the house that I currently live in but it was meshed with my childhood home and the one we moved into when I was a teenager.  My grandmother, who passed away 9 years ago, was seen in the dream but never spoke.  I was carrying a beautiful, almost angel-like baby, probably six months old or so.  I was looking at the walls and the furniture.  There was no words spoken in this dream now that I think about it.  I was just observing my surroundings as I walked the amazing long way through the rooms.  I saw a cat that we used to have but disappeared a few years ago.  I felt curious and protective.  Usually my dreams are full of talking and people and even plots while this was calm and almost peaceful.  Whatcha think?
  • evil_twin said on Sep 25, 2007....
Notsosingle--A house in a dream symbolizes your life as a whole. So it's not so strange that it would be a combination of the different houses you once lived in. It's like taking a journey through your life up until this point. Complete with a relative that is no longer with you and a pet too. The baby is a symbol of a new beginning in your life. I think it was a very good dream that is telling you to take stock of your life, and remember the past fondly, but look toward the future happily.

Hmmmmm........I know you love doing this and I always like to hear what you have to say too! So I'll tell you a dream I had the night before.

I was in a house that was supposed to be our house, but it wasn't. And it was Christmas time. We had a really big tree with lots of lights on it. But there were no lights on in the house at all. Just the tree lights. It was dark. And then you got a flashlight so we could see and we realized all of our little ornaments were all over the floor and not on the tree anymore.

This upset me alot!! I was mad and you kept telling me not to worry, but I wouldn't listen. Do you know what this dream meant?

  • evil_twin said on Sep 25, 2007....
Tara--That's a pretty common dream to feel like you're stuck and can't get anywhere or escape from something. It's rooted in fear of feeling helpless and/or being unable to escape from life's little problems. It suggests you need to have more confidence in yourself. To dream about having trouble riding a bike means you're experiencing anxiety. Dreaming about your brother, or anyone who has already passed away, usually just means you miss them. Sometimes I do think that it is a way for dead people to visit us too, or to help us move on and let them go.

Cutie--Interesting dream! First of all, Christmas represents family and celebrations. And the fact that the ornaments were all over the place, means you're worried that certain celebrations might not turn out as you planned. I'm gonna guess it's about the wedding? And the fact that the room was dark, except for the tree lights, suggests that maybe you're too focused on the celebration and are forgetting other details around you. It's cool that I had a flashlight though because that's actually a symbol for sexuality! And also wanting to shed light on things that maybe you're overlooking. Your psyche seems to think I'm the one who can help you :-)

I don't have a dream in particular, but have a question about dreams in general. I have quite a few long dreams, the ones that seem like they are an hour long.

In those dreams, if there is a vehicle involved (my truck, a work truck) I go to it and can't find it. Sometimes there are things keeping me from getting to it. Also, this applies if I'm going to a location, meaning I usually never get there.

In almost all these dreams, there is never a "completion" of any kind. If I'm helping someone, we never get out or to where we are going.

    So, what's this all about?

I dreamed I had to water the garden. There were a large number of flower beds, they stretched a long way (in the dream) I did not have a lot of time to do it. It was all hand watering with a pink hose. I also had to wash my fathers muddy car which was right round the other side of the block. I finished watering the garden and tried to stretch the hose around the corner but it was not long enough,so I ran and got a green hose to join onto the pink one. The coupling was different and i could not make it fit. I said to my sister, who appeared out of nowhere, " I can't clean the car,you will have to go to your wedding in a dirty one."

Then I woke up busting for the toilet! It was about 3030am lol

I had this dream a few months ago, I've been meaning to post it on the blog, but I guess I'll put it here and see if you can interpret it.
Ok, I was in love with a midget.  He looked like the midget from mind of mencia.  Every once in awhile he would appear in front of me and motion downwards w/his head, towards his crotch.  With no words spoken, I knew he was asking me to zip up his fly for him.  He would also motion towards his arms, as if saying they were too short for him to zip it himself.  Every time I went to zip him up, he had a gigantic hard-on, and it turned me on.  I wanted to gargle his marbles.

I have some pretty interesting dreams at times...Imagine, if you will,an old west town
and its like in the clint eastwood spaghetti westerns,
for a fistfull of dollars and the like...
this mexican is walking towards you,
full get up, gringo mustache, hat hanging on his neck,
in his arms a great big barrell of gunpowder
and its trailing a small line of spilling powder on the ground.
behind him you follow the trail he walked, and see at the end
a bunch of his friends, that are laughing and guffawing
one of them with a great big cigar
they are at the begining of the gunpowder trail
you look back at the mexican that has walked past you,
and you see a note is taped to his back... it says
"ask me about my life insurance plan!"
  • evil_twin said on Sep 26, 2007....
    tara--You're welcome :-)

beyond--Dreams like that typically mean that you feel like you have trouble accomplishing the goals in your life. You may know what they are, but something is always holding you back. Usually it's some sort of insecurity or fear that your goals are unreachable, so you put them off. It's a way of avoiding the unknown. And dreaming about a truck also means you feel overworked.

rupert--Water is usually a very good dream symbol, unless it's dirty water. But since this is clear water coming from a hose, it suggests spiritual renewal and cleansing. A rejuvenation of your spirit. Flower gardens represent a feeling of tranquility and peace. The color pink represents love and green can represent several things. But generally it symbolizes independence and health. And since the two hoses would not fit together, that suggests that you have some trouble finding balance in your life between love and wanting to be independent. And the fact that you were unable to wash the mud off the car means you feel as if you no matter how hard you try to cleanse your spirit, it's never enough. The mud remains.

amy--Your dream is hilarious! But let's see, dreaming about a midget means you feel small and insignificant in your life. And seeing a penis with an erection means you want to be powerful and take charge of a situation. So crazy as it was, it actually has a normal meaning!

lucy--I'm sorry! I had no idea you'd posted this before. I didn't realize you knew about dreams. I did that one dream for you at Infernal's post and it was pretty interesting :-)

destiny--Now you know where to go if you ever need dream help :-)

silver--You use your dreams as writing fodder? That's actually pretty interesting!

hidufel--Guns and gun powder indicate conflict and aggression. Seeing a mustache means hidden secrets and emotions. Cigars are a sign of power and masculine energy. And if you saw a sign on the guys back about life insurance, it would suggest that your brain has a sense of humor! And also, do you have a conflict with your insurance company? :-P

  • LoriaAmnekia said on Sep 26, 2007....

Most of my dreams lately have just been the product of an over-active imagination and an obsession with a particular children's anime cartoon.  And then there's the weird dreams that are so completely insane sounding and disjointed that my husband just laughs at them.  I did have one that was a bit troubling a few years back.  My husband and I were living in an apartment at the time in a small town (no gas station at all!) not too far from where we are now.   I dreamt that there was a flood so bad that the entire three story building was flooded.  The water was dark and it kept storming so the water kept rising and I couldn't get the water out of our apartment.  When the current took us out of the building, I kept going under and couldn't find my husband.  When I woke up I had to pee.

Then there was a strange one about a year or so ago that still kinda creeps me out.  I just don't get.  I watch horror movies all the time, you'd think a dream would have to be pretty rough for me to wake up in a cold sweat, but it wasn't.  I dreamt that I was sleeping.  At least,  it was pitch black and I couldn't see anything, so I think I was sleeping.  Then I heard this loud noise and tried to ignore it.  But the noise changed to this freaky voice telling me "Get up lazy a**.  Get the f*** up you lazy b****."    The voice was really freaky, it gave me a deep down fear.  When I woke up, I was shaking and covered in a cold sweat and it took a while for me to be able to go back to sleep.  There was no one around that could have been talking to me while I was sleeping.  My husband doesn't talk to me that way and he was snoring away when I woke.  So I just don't get it.

  • evil_twin said on Sep 26, 2007....
Loria--Dreams about floods and flooding mean that you're feeling overwhelmed by life and your emotions. And the fact that you couldn't find your husband in the water suggests you worry about losing his affections. And the dream you had about sleeping means you're emotionally exhausted and drained. And the freaky voice calling you lazy is likely your subconscious. You have a guilt of relaxing and are probably constantly trying to please others at your expense. Even in your dreams, you won't allow yourself to let go and rest.
  • silverwhisper said on Sep 26, 2007....
e_t: let's just say that sleeping is research and leave it at that? :>

  • LoriaAmnekia said on Sep 26, 2007....
*blinks*  Wow.  You're really good.  At the time of the flooding dream, that's pretty much how I felt.  I still worry about losing his affections.  And the other dream interp?  That's...You should, like, be one of those phone people and do this for a living.  Or something.  I've always been that way.  Always trying to please other even at my own expense.  Wow.
  • evil_twin said on Sep 26, 2007....
    silver--Enjoyable research! :-P

Loria--Thank you :-) I'm glad I read these dreams correctly! I should do this for a living, eh? That would be a fun job!

cookie--Well if you ever remember, let me know!

easyman--Dreaming about your first love, when you never really think of her in your waking life, means you are longing for a better time in your life. You miss how she made you feel or who you were back when you were together. It might not be her you miss, but the emotions you felt. First love is always exciting and fun and maybe you're lacking that in your life right now? I'll check out your blogs too!

    Ok, I'll bite.

I had a dream while back that I'll remember forever. It was truly a horrific dream for me.

I was at Rob's (my S.O.) mother's home, and the boys and I were getting ready to go to the park. I take my boys' hands to get ready to cross the street. As we are getting ready to cross, a car comes. Matthew (the oldest) and I step back from the curb. Johnny did not. He was hit by this car, which was going only about 30 mph.

The person in the car got scared and drove away, leaving my boy there to die. I run over to him, and see that there is no possibly way he can be alive. There is blood everywhere and his head is caved in on one side. All I could do was say "Don't move him, don't touch him. Johnny, can you hear me? SOMEONE HELP!". Of course I'm in hysterical fit.

Then, I woke up. This is the most terrifying dream I have ever had. Truly scary. I woke up crying for goodness sakes. I'm in tears right now just remembering it.

    It was so real.

What do you think it means?

  • evil_twin said on Sep 26, 2007....
angel--First off, that is a terrifying dream! Every parents worst nightmare. But to break it down a little, a car accident signifies your emotional state. It means you're overwhelmed with anxieties and worry. To see someone bleeding means you're emotionally and physically drained. To see your child dying and knowing there is nothing you can do, would suggest that you often feel helpless in your life, or you worry about being helpless. Especially in regards to your children and their lives. You sometimes feel that life is out of your hands and that frightens you.
  • Angel_Chicken said on Sep 26, 2007....

Can you interpret non-sleeping visions? I have had two very powerful ones, but I wasn't sleeping when they happened. Wide awake. I have other abilities, but these two were ABOUT ME, where as my other abilities are usually about other people, or things that will happen. I think they were REAL visions, but neither has come true yet. If you think you can take a stab at my waking visions, I'll share.

Okay...So, I had a dream that my sister and I went to visit our grandparents. Once we got in the house, I can't remember if we found them dead or what but for some reason that keeps popping up. If they weren't dead, there was something wrong with them. We went to get help, came back and they were gone. Out of no where... There's a midget, and he chased us all over the place. We locked ourselves in rooms, we hid any place we could... But he still found us. At one point, he attacked me, clawing and biting at me, and I got a knife and was stabbing him, but he still wouldn't go away, it didn't phase him at all. Can you please tell me what that's about? Also, I don't have a problem with midgets, so it can't be that....

I had a really weird dream last night, and even if I'm usually the one who interprets everyone else's dreams, I can't seem to figure this one out exactly....
yesterday...
I looked up on the hill, and there was hubby holding down a huge white, furry bear! He had duct-taped the front paws together, and the back paws together---and he was laughing as he threatened to unleash it at me!

I was cowered in a room loo...
I had a dream last night. It centred upon a bonsai tree my boyfriend bought me for Christmas last year.

When I looked at the bonsai tree it looked as it usually does, very green leafy, a healthy tree. But then on closer inspection the bonsai...
