Ok here is something near and dear to my heart. Currently anyway. I’m into online gaming. Not the gambling kind, but action video games against other players. I got started with Team Fortress but got fed up with STEAM, the server network, and it’s bullshit. I loved the game though. Now I have an Xbox 360 and play a number of games on the Microsoft network. I’m currently into Rainbow Six Vegas so I will focus on that.
My gripe is not against Microsoft (today), but against other players, particularly those that have gotten themselves all shot up (AGAIN!!!) early in the game, are dead and watching the other players through the God Cam, and have all kinds of advise on what to do. You know who you are YOU ANNOYING MOTHER FUCKERS. You know what? You’re dead! Shut the fuck up and let others play their game. They’re alive, you’re not so maybe they have more of a clue or more skill than your dead ass. If you’re constantly able to view the other players and you’re not set to spectate only, your not qualified to teach class. Sit back, watch the game and try to learn something.
I’m not talking about telling your teammates where the last opposing player or target is. That’s cool, but trying to micro manage everyone else is just annoying. Did I mention that your dead, your way doesn’t work and you should SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! Stop yelling into the mike, "Shoot", "Put your shield up", "Stop using your IR", or asking, "What the hell are you doing?" the answer to the question is getting more points than your "Dead Again" ass. Your telling me or someone else to "Turn Right" when that is already being done is a waste of your breath and my patients and if I’m currently engaging a target that is obviously there, stop acting like I don’t know what’s going on. If a person did seem to legitimately miss something, call it out, but don’t be a "Bitching Betty." If you tell someone something and he or she says, "ok" but doesn’t do what you said…shut up. Just shut up! They said ok, so they must have heard you. If they say something like, "yea, I got it covered." You should shut up then too. If they flat out say, "hey, let me play my own game" or "I know what I’m doing", stop nagging them. You’re being more of a problem than an asset.
Maybe you should try some teamwork. Stop being a Know It All, Loan Wolf, Glory Hounding Point Pig. Sure it’s a video game, an action/first person shooter with live real time communication. So use that, Shoot…Move…and Communicate. At the start of the game I hear nothing from you until you call out, "I got blazed!" I knew that because your name popped up (AGAIN) and now your Chatty Fucking Cathy with all kinds of info except something useful like where you got blazed at or from.
Stop telling people what equipment they should use. All equipment has a use. True not all people can use all equipment, but all equipment has a use. Let the person use what they are comfortable with, and try to use your selection to compliment theirs. For instance, if a guy is "operating" with a shield. Let him use the shield. Hell, try using the shield with him. It will block incoming fire for two or more. Don’t be a "point pig" by bounding ahead of the "shield man." Rather than the shield, you become the bullet sponge and cover up the shield man’s line of sight because your ass is in his face. Try staying behind him while he is crouched and you are in the standing. Shoot over his head and move as he moves. You get two sets of eyes on target; two men able to engage one target should one miss and a better chance of handling multiple aggressors.
But that would be teamwork and you only want to concentrate on you, your kills and how many glitches you can activate weather or not anyone else is ready. Do you see SWAT TEAMS operate like that on TV? Do you see the shooters out in front of the shield? No everyone is behind the bullet sponge. Shit even TV shows get that right, but you fuck it up. Use some coordination! Use some communication! Again do you see individual action in a SWAT RAID? No it’s all coordinated. If one element does something the others know about. Work with the others on your team. Let that Shield or Machinegun in the room first. You don’t have to be the first one in every time and if by some fucked up chance you are in the rear, cover the rear. Pull rear security and check "The Six" (rear) from time to time. I’m sick of getting blazed when you should have had my back.
In case you haven’t noticed or don’t understand why some people do what they do and your teammate just appears to be a dumb ass to "your dumb ass." Here is something to consider.
He does not have the shied up because he can move faster if not blocking with it.
He put the shield away (on his back) because he can move faster still. I also suspect that it may give more protection from being shot in the back. Never been in that situation, but it seems like a logical game feature to have.
He has the Thermal/IR vision on in well-lit areas because it aids greatly in target acquisition (spotting the fuckers). Yes the visibility range is decreased, but targets within that range are lit up like a Christmas Tree and even just the targets shooting hand from around a wall becomes a great target.
He threw smoke against targets that have IR because they will probably use the IR to counter the smoke. (1) This gives them a decision to make and something for them to do while you maneuver. (2) If they do go to IR their visual range is decreased and this can limit a sniper's ability to pick you off from far out. If you can’t completely blind him, you can limit his range and get closer or get to a better vantage point.
The guy with the Machinegun is going batshit at nothing (apparently) to suppress (keep down) a target. If they are hiding they are not shooting or at least not shooting effectively. How about while the TANGOS are busy with their task of self-preservation you sneak around, flank em and then separate soul from body, rather than bitch bitch bitch. Oh forgot, that’s that thing called teamwork again.
When someone calls out that they are tossing a frag, don’t decide then to step out in front of him and bounce the shit back into his lap. And by the same token if you are going to move in front of a standing teammate and just stop there…go to the fucking crouch so he can shoot over your ass. The more guns on target the better.
If you can’t do these things and it’s all about you, create your own match and run your own room. Definitely don’t come to "My House." The fastest way to get kicked is coming to my room and telling me how to run it. I know how to run a tac (tactical) plan and if your "solo ass" can’t follow it, go not get points somewhere else. I’m sick of drooping the difficulty level to finish a terrorist hunt. And yes, I know that running High Density Realistic is worth 600pts. The problem is that you’re not cooperating, not coordinating, being stupid and the rest of the bullshit causes more Mission Failures than Success. I hate wasting time and winning 1game in 6 is just that, if it is even that high. I rather get 1800 points for six straight wins on High Density Normal than 600 point for that one win out of six when set to High Realistic.
If you show that you can "operate" with a team and not create a Cluster Fuck, then I’ll bump it up. More than happy too. What doesn’t make me happy is spending all night for a hand full of points when I could have gotten "BARS" or a new rank.
Can’t wait to see what assholes HALO 3 brings out.
