    That's not simple! :-p

Mine's...hmm...either my Celtic flutes CD or Evanescence, "Fallen" - with Tim McGraw's Greatest Hits Vol. 2 close behind them.

Right now it's a toss-up between "Road to Ruin" by the Ramones, "Hysteria" by Def Leppard, and "Probot" by Dave Grohl & Company.

Most spirits of vengeance are drawn to punk, rock, metal and other combinations thereof.

Except for Stryper.  That shit's just silly.

But god help you when I get my mitts on the CD for "Metalocalypse."
    God help you all...

It's a CD of Tibetal Monks chanting in "deep voice" which is very low and guttural.  It is soothing to have that in the background while I'm busy with needle work, cooking or reading.

Yeesh. My playlist spans about 2400 songs... I should say, my condensed playlist is 2400 songs. But my favorite album was, is and always will be Fear of Music, by Talking Heads.

But recently, I've been on a huge Primus kick. I'm especially partial to Frizzle Fry and The Brown Album.

    Ed,
Right now, I've been listening mostly to Martina McBride's Waking Up Laughing CD.  More specifically I listen to the song Anyway over and over because it speaks to me right now.

I am going to say the soundtrack to Across the
Universe...I am not much for musicals, but I love the beatles and these covers are great!

Must say I know very few of those listed so far, as for me...its a hard pick but  - at the risk of sounding pretentious, but I have an album of Scandinavian wind quintets performed by the Oslo wind Ensemble. That is number one today. Tomorrow it might be the Beatles,or Credence,or David Sanborn or .... Like I said, a hard pick!

infernal: see, it wasn' that tough: seems like you didn't have much trouble coming up with a few possibilities! i'm a big fan of fallen, too--great album, IMHO.

super z: well, i know your tastes are very wide-ranging so i figured you'd have trouble answering this one... :D

    queen: i don't believe i'm familiar w/ mika: ?

lys: um...bioshock? btw, always good to see you here. :>

    quietone: [trout-smack!]

blue: o man...i've just realized i don't own any of the ramones' stuff--i need to fix that!

u-i: ah...that sounds pretty nifty to me.

harried: oo, the talking heads--i just got remain in light a few weeks ago!

CW: it's extraordinary sometimes how a particular song will grab you by the shirt and make you listen to it, don't you find?

antimatter: you know, i don't think i knew that soundtrack was out!

alyss: i don't believe i know of jeff wayne: ?

hollywood jess: welcome to my blog and thank you for visiting! the mrs was really struck by the commercials for that film and is itching to see it. the commercials make it look to me like a baz luhrman film (moulin rouge, strictly ballroom)--is that a fair comparison, would you say?

rupe: that's a pretty diverse list, man!

me personally, right now i think the album that speaks to me most strongly is springsteen's born to run. there's a unity and flow to the tracks that builds so skillfully to me, and all of it is released in the last track, jungleland...

Remain in Light is another work of art, Ed. I've got their whole discography, plus a lot of David Byrne's solo stuff. I recommend Fear of Music if you didn't pick it up already. The whole album is written in minor keys, so it has a very dark quality without being too brooding. Good stuff indeed.
  • silverwhisper said on Sep 26, 2007....
ms bradford: i've heard excellent things about her but i don't believe i'm familiar w/ her work.

harried: ah, i should definitely pick it up, then.

She's from England and her album came out last year. She is a talented singer and songwriter.
  • CreativeWoman said on Sep 26, 2007....
    Ed,
It is amazing how a certain song grabs you sometimes.  It's like it was written for you where you are in this moment of life.

I'm not sure I can narrow it down to one favorite album right now. I have been listening to The Indigo Girls Rarities CD and Amos Lee's self-titled album.
  • silverwhisper said on Sep 27, 2007....
ms bradford: i've heard that, i'll have to check her out.

CW: yep, i know what you mean. :>

super z: you know, i'm unfamiliar with both, sadly.

Safety in Numbers by Crack the Sky. Rather old now but my current whole-ablum fave.
  • silverwhisper said on Sep 30, 2007....
    predictably, that's a band i don't know. ?

  • kelly said on Oct 02, 2007....
Crack the Sky were big in the 70s. Or rather, they were almost big in the 70s. Rolling Stone named their debut album in 1975 as album of the year. It's progressive rock and the musicianship is outstanding.

They did have a hit in the 80s called Hot Razors In My Heart, but their debut album and "Safety in Numbers" remains what I think is their most awesome stuff.
  • silverwhisper said on Oct 02, 2007....
ah. yeah, i gotta confess i don't believe i'm at all familiar with them. think it's something i could find still?

  • kelly said on Oct 02, 2007....
An acquantaince of mine turned me on to them years ago and I'd been looking for the albums ever since. I finally found them on emusic.com, of all places. I canceled that subscription so I don't know if they still have it, but it looks like they're having a 25 free downloads promotion so what the heck?! Of all their songs I'd suggest getting Nuclear Apathy first. It's a long piece.
