I just went to see Across the Universe. It reminded me of the devastation of war and how it rips life apart on every level.
Plus it is the decade of time that I relate to the most, having been born in 1958.
I thought the singing was incredible and I'm mad at a review I accidentally read before I went to see it that described it as Bad Beatles Karaoke. Evidently that critic doesn't know diddly about singing or harmony. I liked that there was a such a variety of voices from high and clear to earthy and bluesy. I'm looking forward to getting the soundtrack.
Oh and Bono has a great part in the film playing The Walrus.
I'd see it again in a New York minute.
