I love the glow of candles.  There is something comforting about them.  I take my time to choose just the right scent to make my home smell inviting to me.  I love coming in from being outside and smelling the lingering fragrance in the air from the last time it was burning.

Today I'm burning a pumpkin spice candle.  It smells like a pumpkin pie baking.  I love it.  It is one of my favorites for fall.

Do you burn scented candles?  If so, what scent is in your home right now?

I love candles.  I like the glow from them, and watching the flicker of the flames.. I also have a pumpkin spice one..I guess its that time of year.  Sometimes I mix the scents throughout the house...like baby powder in the bathroom, sage and citrus in the living room, fresh linen or lavender in the bedroom.  I don't care for the flowery strong smelling candles though.

I LOVE candles!!! I've got a ton of them around our house. My favorite ones are fruit scented. I have a grape scented one that I got at Yankee Candle that I burn alot. And in the kitchen right now I've got a pumpkin spice one too!

I burn lavender in the bedroom b/c it's supposed to help relax you and make you sleep better.......

    I'm addicted to candles!

I use a candle warmer because the flames make me nervous.  (When we were without power for three days after a snowstorm, I went to bed at 6:00 every evening because I was afraid the house would burn down.)

I have an oatmeal raisin cookie candle that I love.  It really smells like cookies.

    Hey CW!
I think we're all allergic to the Yankee Candles that I bought.  But I LOVE the smell of fall and have Pumpkin Spice calling my name.  Perhaps I should send you all the candles I bought but can't use in my warmer or burn...?

What's your favorite "brand" of candles?  Maybe when you recover, you can start doing candle parties!  Or, you can become an affiliate and just send out/hand out catalogs to friends and family...

daily ~ gee allergit to yankee candles?  that is too bad.  It is the only place I have found to get my "clove" scented candles.  I love burning them.  I love their big store down your way.  You could get lost in there. ..and broke too!  LOL
  • dailyachesandpains said on Sep 23, 2007....
Quiet, I know, it's a sad, very sad story indeed.  If I happen to catch a sale on the clove, I'll pick them up for you.  Just hope I don't drop them while sneezing!  Yeah, they are expensive.  There's another big store in Newport, RI.  When we're in the mall (rarely) we have to walk to the other side of the walk when we're approaching Yankee Candle Co. and we did it for my Husband's sake at first, now I'll be doing it for my own good too.  (wipes tears)

Hello! Hope you are feeling better these days.
I buy candles every single week. I love the ones that smell of spice or baking cookies.**smile**They are in every room, they just make the house glow! and smell really good too! I have been a candle nut for a long time. Got some pretty holders too. well take care!   see ya

    quietone,
My house is pretty small so I usually just burn one scented candle at a time.  It seems to float throughout the whole house.  Once in a while I burn the little tea light candles in pretty holders just because they make me feel peaceful.

    Natalie,
I used to make my own lavender candles.  I made them with a fairly strong scent using lavender essential oil.  I gave them as gifts one year at Christmas.  I love candles too.

    Eilan,
Candles can be dangerous.  That is true.  I have a candle warmer, but I don't like it as well as burning a candle.  There is something about the gentle glow of the flame that I find soothing.  I always trim the wick before lighting it each time.  That helps to keep it burning evenly.

    Daily,
You are sweet to offer me your candles.  :-)  That's a good idea about selling or marketing candles.  That might do pretty well.  I might have to search that out some.  I really need to get into promoting my AVON site more too as I'm starting to feel better.  I've found an herbal company that I could do a website with too.  I've been thinking about that as well. The information for it came while I was in the hospital.  Thanks for reminding me of that!

    Thanks for rooting for me!

    quiet,
I get Yankee candles at my local Hallmark store.  They have a small selection there.  Since they are more expensive, I usually just purchase them as gifts.  For myself, I do a lot of candle sniffing at Wal Mart.

    Daily,
That's too bad that such good smelling candles bother your family so much.

    MMI,
I feel a little better.  Thanks.  I love candles that smell like cookies too.  Around Christmas I sometimes get candles that are sugar cookie scented.  At least I can smell them even if I can't eat them.

I went to a candle party a few months ago. It's PartyLite. I got a really yummy scented nectarine candle there! But if you are looking for a candle business, I think they do pretty well with PartyLite......at least according to the lady who threw the party!

is it weird that i like candles, too?

there's a small pack of yankee candle candles, i don't recall what we last burned. i think it must've been something summery as the last time we had one burning it was quite nice out.

No, I don't think it is weird.  Everyone can enjoy a nice smelling atmosphere.  :-)
