I'm currently working in South Korea as an English teacher and I've just been noticing a few things... things that are just so different from the U.S.
Like how the kids here actually get out to play more... playgrounds are full, lots of little ones ride bikes, scooters. Even whole families play an impromtu game of badminton here (more light weight and portable than tennis), right in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
Yeah, the education system here can get harsh for these kids (some of my 3rd graders take so many extra classes, they're up studying until midnight... and they go to school at 7-8 am!!). But they really have a healthy concept of play and participating in sports. And alot of times the parents get out there too... much more connected than families I see back home.
I'll write more when I think of something... 'til next time!
