in a very interesting developement over the last few days, we have gone from hearing that the mercenary company, Blackwater was going to be kicked out of Iraq, to the story today which backs away from that position.

The United States on Tuesday suspended all land travel by U.S. diplomats and other civilian officials in Iraq outside Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone, amid mounting public outrage over the alleged killing of civilians by the U.S. Embassy's security provider Blackwater USA. The move came even as the Iraqi government appeared to back down from statements Monday that it had permanently revoked Blackwater's license and would order its 1,000 personnel to leave the country, depriving American diplomats of security protection essential to operating in Baghdad.

There needs to be better accountability for these companies, and why are they being used anyway, when our military could provide this level of protection for a tenth the cost! There should be an investigation into Blackwater and Haliburton and anyone else who is getting rich off of our tax dollars, when they take traditional jobs provided by the military, and the military personnel in those M.O.S.'s (Jobs) have nothing to do. Sounds like someone is profiteering at all of our expense, and actions should be taken immediately to correct this unethical activity!

Did you happen to watch the documentary
    'The War Tapes'
I sent it to my soldier friend while he was over in Iraq and he said almost everything you did.

A soldier in a convoy providing protection for these "contractors" is more likely to be a target for the "terrorists" than if they were just patrolling.

In your opinion, do you think the elections will change anything there?

I have since seen the War Tapes and these men are nothing but modern day "Hessians", only this time they work for us!! Shameful and criminal!!

What could possibly be done?  Seriously!
How much to grab 2 plates at chow hall?  One for the meal and one to cover the meal...I forget what the soldier said, but it was unheard of!

Think about all that money...wasted.  I don't know if our government even thinks about the people that are homeless here, all over our country, that Katrina did happen and that people are still displaced and without homes.  How about re-directing that money to people here who need it...nah, that might make sense.  This upsets me, I'm sorry.

What You Didn't Know About The War...
I have a handful of friends. Less than a handful, really. My very best friend plays different roles. She changes, as needed, depending on my mood or what is going on in my life. She is my rock, my mother, my sister, my friend, my daughter, my soul...the...
