For reasons I'm not completely sure of, my work computer is being bitchy and not letting me post things except every 20th time.  It's also decided that Flickr is the enemy and will not allow me to upload to that either.  Not willing to be outsmarted by silicone and metal I figured out how to work around it.

I did want to share my latest craft.  The body of the dragonfly is less shiny now.  I foolishly believed the tube of glue that advertised it's self as clear, so I put some on the top of the rhinestones to protect them and now they are cloudy.

I took the picture with my new digital camera.  I'm really glad I got it, but it is causing me to sacrifice financially for the next few days.  Between this expense and my daughter coming down to pick my pockets I am facing a financial nightmare.  Oh well, it's "just" money.

I like it uniquely, well done.  And you are right, its just money, and as long as you are enjoying it, that is all that really matters.  :)

quietone - I find that these things usually straighten out over time.

SW - thank you, I'm pleased that it turned out as good as it did considering that I had to design the wings myself.

Really lovely, U-I, well done!  Are you going to make some more?  I have use clear nail varnish to protect jewellery before and that works quite well :-)

Oh what I wouldn't do to have your patience!  It's lovely!
Have you thought about childrens frames? ;D

You've inspired me to start TRYING to become crafty.  I know it can get messy and I am so fearful of that.  I bought a craft book, I hope I can actually read it and retain.  The supplies I'm going to need...I know it's going to cost me tons!  This 'stuff' gets so expensive!

u-i what kind of glue did you use? for things with plastic or "jewel" pieces i always use silicone sealer, which does dry clear.

the dragonfly is very pretty. and i love the string work behind it.

polar - I do plan to make more, but since they're all done with at least 50% found or recycled objects they will all be strikingly different.  I've used nail polish too, but just wasn't thinking this time around.

Daily - take one step at a time.  Some things I start never get done, others can take quite a long time, some just seem to finish themselves.  Just do things like this when you feel inspired.  Kid's frames sound fun, I'll have to keep my eyes open for materials for them.

Zayda - I'll try the silicone sealer.  Since my work is "dimensional" I worry that over time the touching will dull the sparkle.  The string work is my favorite part of the project.

skald - thank you for the compliment.  I'm glad you like it

infernal - I'm not a rabid "green earth" type, but I do find that using found/recycled items more interesting.

    Grape - thanks

I love dragonflys Uni, two weeks ago I was helping my son build his new house, we had just put all the windows in and twice large blue dragonflys flew in the doors and couldn't figure how to get out through a large picture window. I sat and watched them intently, then shoood them back out a door.

Your dragonfly is the color of some I see at a lake near here, just a little more red. You do nice work Uni, keep it up.

mobil - I have a thing for dragonflies too.  I often will see them, even when driving down the highway.

MissMimi - I love the colors too, though I tend to use them lightly.
