The man with the pen name Robert Jordan died Sunday in Charleston. I enjoyed his books and him as an author.

I never really got into his books, despite having lots of friends and family members who were. Still, it's said to learn of his passing.

What strikes me is that he was only 58. For some reason, I thought he was older. Perhaps, the perception that he was older comes from how prolific a writer he was.

I made it to somewhere in book 5 of the Wheel of Time books, and lost interest.
Mrs. ALIEN has read them all, and is waiting for the "last" one. I told her there
would probably never be a last one, but I guess she has read the last one now
unless they turn the rights over to someone else like they did James Bond, etc.

One of the other places that I tend to troll had a note that he had been working on the last and ended up dictating the plot, events and such so that someone else could finish it for him.  I would have to find the source, so don't quote me on it.

so so so sad. *sigh* but we all knew it was coming...we were just lucky to have what he did put out......he wasn't even supposed to make it that far.

Very true Falyn.   I suppose that I should sit down and actually read the last two (or is it three) so I am caught up.   I just had a hard time getting into one of them for some reason.   I think it was Winter's Heart.

i think winters heart was one i had a hard time getting into also.
usually when a new one came out i'd start all over at the beginning again.
i've read them all about 8 times.

hehe,  I have read the first 5 a number of times.
