Well, getting up for lessons this morning was a chore, having not got to bed until 1 am this morning! We headed down to the Blarney Stone last night to play in their Session (musical one of course), on the promise of free drinks for musicians. J
As it turned out we met and Australian and a Canadian, who had just finished a piping contract in a theme park near HK. We played various tunes together and solo. It was great to meet other pipers and listen to quality piping from a couple of true pros.
This afternoon was Kung fu. I was really feeling the strain after very little sleep. Today we discovered why our instructor was so good: he’s trained Olympains, European Champions and us, the infamous scholars. He graduated as the top student in his year at the Shaolin Temple – not something Jackie Chan has achieved. Enough said!
