I am a natural coquette, but am extremely private about my personal life. I chat with both men and women in social situations, and seem to attract too much attention.
The problem is that I am not interested in going any further than casual friendship with men or women.
In the past, I'd bring out the spouse/S.O. type of thing, but I'd like to avoid misunderstanding myself without bringing someone else into the picture (especially when she doesn't exist).
I ended up being hot and cold, cold to douse excess interest, hot to encourage friendship which seemed to confuse people.
I want to remain open and friendly but with obvious boundaries without going too personal.
I'd welcome any ideas.
