After writing last night’s entry Rupert and I headed to O’Malley’s in the French Concession to meet the general manager. We discussed the possibility of playing our bagpipes in the beer garden and he was delighted to accept our proposal. So hopefully the more Scotland progress in the rugby the more we’ll earn. We’ll play most of the Scottish rugby games, and afters a monthly session in the beer garden is on the cards (we hope!). He also mentioned playing for Hogmany, Burns Night etc, which we would be delighted to do. It was also great to do business with a fellow Scot! It turned out he used to own nightclubs all over Scotland, even in Perth!
As for today, this morning was occupied with a speaking lesson and this afternoon by a Chinese painting lesson, which was more interesting than we expected it to be. Tomorrow we have our first lecture and the first character lesson: both of which I’m looking forward to!
